"We were originally called the 'Blue Diamond Authority', and this gang was run by the one and only Blue Diamond....well, that was her gang name. None of us knew what her real name was. But, she was assassinated by our rivaling gang, the 'Crystal Gems'. That was the gang that was attacking you guys before the rubies came and took you. Before Blue Diamond died, she told Lapis Lazuli to take her place if she ever did die, because she claimed that she was the most dangerous and dominant of all of us. We couldn't argue with Blue Diamond's orders, so Lapis Lazuli has been our boss for about 5 years now." Jasper explains, as we continue walking down the hall.
"H-how long have you been apart of this gang?" I asked. "Well, that part's kinda complicated..." Her deep voice trailed off as we stopped at a door. She used her keys to open it, and we slowly walked inside....and I gotta say - it wasn't that bad. It was an average-sized room with a pull-out couch, small TV on top of a dresser, and there was a door that led to a bathroom down at the end of the room. I noticed two curtains draping over what looked like a small square window.
"Why did you kidnap me?" I asked suddenly, breaking Jasper out of her trance. "I....um....we're always needing new recruits, and if any outsider Beach City citizens were to witness any Crystal Gem activity, they could call the cops and the police investigations and research could lead back to our gang, and it would be the end of us all..." she explains, staring at the floor. "I-I won't tell anyone! I promise! Just please let me go..." I anxiously beg. Yes, I know I said the room was nice and all, but I definitely didn't wanna spend the rest of my life working for a dangerous gang at risk of getting arrested or killed every day.
"I'm sorry, but according to Lapis's orders, we cannot take any risks...." Jasper apologizes, and tells me she'll be right back. She leaves the room, closing the door behind her. Where was she going? After about 2 minutes, she came back with a bag full of what looked like clothing - definitely not my style of clothing, that was for certain. She held the bag out to me, and I reluctantly took it with my shaky hand. "Put these on, you'll fit in a lot better and it'll save you a lot of judgment from the boss and other gang members. Let me know when you're done." Jasper explains, then steps out of the room once again.
I dumped the clothing out onto the bed, and I picked up the shirt first. It was a plain white t-shirt with a green alien on the front (strangely similar to the one on my tank-top), and that wasn't the clothing I was complaining about - It was the others. I took off my tank-top and slipped on the t-shirt. Next, I picked up the dark gray skinny jeans with several holes in it. They definitely looked at least a size too small for me, but I struggled to squeeze into them anyway. I noticed a black leather jacket in the pile, and I picked it up to examine it a little closer.
It was similar to Lapis, Jasper, and the Rubys' jackets, with a Blue Diamond insignia on the back. Only it didn't have the studs on the shoulders like Lapis Lazuli's. I slipped it on, and put on the heavy spiked black boots that sat on the bed. The last thing I noticed on the bed was a dog-tag necklace, that had 'PERIDOT' engraved in it. Nice, I thought. I put the necklace on, then walked into the bathroom to look in the mirror. Ok, I'm not gonna lie, I looked badass, but I still felt uneasy about the whole situation.
I walked out, opened the front door, and told Jasper I was finished. Jasper looked me up and down, then gave me a thumbs up. "Now, while I was going to get your clothes, I overheard the boss saying she'll be assigning you your first mission tonight, so you have some time to get comfortable here." Jasper claims, putting her hands behind her back. The mention of Lapis Lazuli made me a little weak on my feet, and I couldn't tell if it was from arousal or fear - or both.
But something that I also noticed was that whenever Jasper mentioned her, she seemed uncomfortable and uneasy. As I studied her expressions more, I felt like she was familiar, too. It was all too weird for me, and I wondered why both Lapis and Jasper seemed familiar. That's when I realized Jasper was studying me, too. Does she think I'm familiar too? I thought for moment.
"Do I know you from somewhere?" I asked finally. "Actually, I think so. You seem very familiar..." Jasper says, squinting her eyes at me. After a few moments, her face turned bright red and her eyes grew wide. She quickly turned her face away from me, almost as if she was ashamed of something. Before I could ask any more questions, she muttered a quick goodbye, and left the room for the last time, leaving me with my thoughts. What was that about? I wondered, staring at the doorway where she was previously standing.
