Cassiopeia's POV
"Gin, Ginny wait slow down will you?" I shouted as I rushed to Ginny after transfiguration.
"What are you all excited about?" Ginny asked as I caught up to her.
"I can't talk about it much because I'll be late for class, but meet me in the common room after classes ok?" Ginny nodded as I hurried off to ancient tunes.
I sat in ancient runes anxiously waiting for the final class of the day to get out. Hermione and I were talking excitedly about the Yule Ball when the Professor wasn't talking. I couldn't wait to talk to Ginny about the Yule Ball. I was a bit more excited then I had let on, but I wasn't about to show the twins that. The ball was definitely something I wanted to talk about with Ginny and Hermione. I waited for the bell to ring, barely paying attention.
Finally after what felt like an eternity the bell rang and I rushed off to the common room. I sat down on an arm chair and waited for Ginny to come in. The portrait hole opened and Ginny walked in, she said goodbye to her friends and came over to me.
"Are you going to tell me what's going on with you? Did Fred kiss you or something?" She asked quickly.
I felt myself burn bright red and clamped a hand over her mouth. "No, that might actually have been worth missing a class to tell you" I said, pulling my hand away from her mouth.
"Did you hear about the Yule Ball?"
"Well.. I think I heard some older students talking about a ball thingy... but I didn't pay much attention" Ginny said.
"Well... it's a ball, you know with fancy dresses and dates and everything" I said with a grin, but the grin soon faded. "Oh... it's off limits to everyone under fourth year though.." I added quietly. Ginny frowned, there's no way Ginny is not going to this ball.
"But if you get asked by an older student you can go, and there's got to be plenty of older boys who would like to go with you. And if you don't get asked you can be my date" I said with a little laugh at the end, though I was completely serious. Ginny couldn't miss the ball.
"But what about your date? I'm sure Fred or someone who's going to ask you... hopefully it's my idiot brother though" Ginny said.
I grinned at her choice of words, "well if someone does ask me, I doubt it will be Fred, but if someone does I'll just tell them that you have to come too, I can not let you miss this" I said.
Ginny grinned "you really are a big sister Cas" she said.
I giggled "I know."
"So, you do want Fred to ask you right?" Ginny questioned.
"Well...yeah... But I don't think he will" I said feeling my cheeks heat up again.
"Hmm.. I think I'll talk to him.."
She noticed the look on my face and added quickly "oh calm down, I'm just going to see who he wants to ask. I'm not going to tell him you fancy him."
"Who's Cas fancy?" a familiar voice asked. I turned around quickly to see Fred and George standing there.
"How long have you two been here?" Ginny asked quickly. That was one thing I loved about Gin, she wasn't the type to tell someone you fancy them if you didn't want her too.
"About twenty seconds now" George said.
"Just long enough to hear you say Cas fancies someone" Fred added.
"So who is it?" They asked together. "I uh.." I muttered unsure what to say.
"We're going down to dinner" Ginny said quickly and dragged me out of the portrait hole.
I was sitting in the common room with Fred and George on Saturday. I glanced up at the clock and stood up quickly, grabbed my bag and hurried to the portrait hole.
