Cassiopeia's POV
I woke up early the Wednesday before the Yule Ball. This was unusual as I never wake up early. Ever. I rolled over and pulled the covers back over my head, trying to fall back asleep. I tossed and turned for a few minutes, before deciding it was no use.
I slipped the curtains of my four poster open and looked out the window. The sun had barely risen and there was still a faint pink glow in the sky. I slipped out of bed as quietly as I could, trying not to wake Hermione or any of the other girls.
I quickly pulled on some black skinny jeans and a grey sweater. I brushed through my dark red hair, and quickly brushed my teeth. When I finished getting ready, I grabbed my school bag, and headed down to the library.
When I walked into the library, I was surprised to see Fleur and Alexandre already there. They seemed to be in a very serious conversation. I walked cautiously over to them, not wanting to interrupt.
Fleur looked up and noticed me walking towards them. I waved at her, and a huge smile came over her pretty face. Fleur shoved Alexandre over to me, still grinning from ear to ear. He looked like he was hiding something behind his back, but I didn't pay much attention to it.
Alexandre rubbed his neck nervously, and looked back at Fleur, who nodded quickly and said "come on, just ask her."
"Ask me what?" I asked confused.
"I was just er... well you've probably already got a date... but um I was wondering if you wanted to go to ze Yule Ball with me?" Alexandre muttered.
After he asked he pulled his hand out from behind his back. "And um I got you zis" he said holding out a beautiful white rose.
"As a matter of fact, I don't have a date, and I would love to go with you" I said with a smile, I could feel my cheeks heating up. "Thank you for the rose Alexandre, it's beautiful" I said as I took it. I ignored the part me of saying, no, I want to go with Fred. I would have a great time at the ball with Alexandre.
Alexandre was grinning, "I'll meet you in ze entrance 'all for ze ball?" He asked me, and I nodded. I was trying to hide the part of me that wanted to squeal with excitement.
"Why are you guys at the library so early?" I asked Fleur and Alexandre. Alexandre looked down, apparently embarrassed.
"Just waiting for you really, I've been talking Alexandre into asking you. We didn't expect to see you so early, what are you doing 'ere?" Fleur asked.
"Well...I came to do more research on the golden egg... but I'm starting think I'm not going to be able to find the answer to that in a book" I told them.
Fleur was smiling again, she had a very pretty smile.
"What?" I asked her a bit nervously.
"Want a 'int?" She asked, I thought about it for a moment. I certainly wasn't getting anywhere with it on my own, but we weren't allowed to except help.
"Maybe a small hint... nothing that makes anything to obvious though" I finally muttered, wondering why she was helping me.
"Don't worry, I will not tell you to much, you will still 'ave to figure a lot out" she said.
I looked at her for a second before she glanced around and said simply, "water."
I was very unsure at what water could do with a golden egg, but I was sure she was
completely serious.
"Thank you" I said with a smile.
I stayed in the library for a few hours again, talking quietly to Fleur and Alexandre. I glanced up at the clock, it was already one in the afternoon.
