Cassie's POV
Fred, George, and I were messing around on the first floor. We'd been planning pranks and playfully changing colors of each other's features for about an hour now. George and I burst into laughter as Fred's hair turned a bright shade of yellow.
George's laughter stopped and he scowled as he looked at something over my shoulder. Fred and I turned around to look, and soon we were both scowling too. Montague was walking towards, with a smug look on his face. What could he possibly want from us now?
The three of us exchanged annoyed looks before we turned back to him.
"Can we help you something?" Fred and George said coldly.
A smirk formed on Montagues face, "you aren't supposed to be using magic in the hallways. Five points fro-"
Montague never managed to finish his sentence. Fred and George had seized his arms on both sides and were pulling him toward the vanishing cabinet. I happily walked over to it and opened the cabinet for them. Then I walked behind the Slytherin git and helped Fred and George shove him headfirst into it.
The three of us walked away. Not even bothering to look back at the cabinet. None of us knew where we sent him, but we didn't care much either. He'd always been a bully, and it was time someone did something to stop it.
"Was that thing about no magic in the hallways even true?" I asked.
"Nope," Fred and George said in unison.
We decided to walk around the castle, and we ran into Ron, Harry, and Hermione. It didn't take long to start discussing the house point situation. Naturally, the only hour glass untouched was the Slytherin house hours glass.
"Stupid inquisitorial squad," I muttered under my breath.
"You mustn't!" Hermione exclaimed after Fred and George explained that they would be causing more mayhem than usual. "You really mustn't! She'd love a reason to expel you!"
Fred smiled at her, "you don't get it, Hermione do you? We don't care about staying anymore. We'd walk out right now if we weren't determined to do our bit for Dumbledore first." He checked his watch and said, "so anyway phase one is about to begin. I'd get in the great hall for lunch if I were you so the teachers will see you had nothing to do with it."
"Nothing to do with what?" Hermione asked anxiously.
"Cas?" Harry asked cautiously.
"Guess you'll just have to see." I said trying to sound casual, but a terrible thought had occurred to me.
Fred and George are leaving.
"Yup. You'll see, Run along now," George said.
We turned and walked into the crowd that was heading for lunch. But instead of going to the great hall, we went to the door hidden behind the tapestry. This was going to give Umbridge absolute hell, and it was going to be wonderful.
As soon as we were sure that the corridor was deserted, we climbed out and began to set everything up. The three of us did our best to make sure nobody was coming. We were all screwed if we got caught in the act of this. In my opinion though, it was one hundred percent worth it.
Every single firework was somehow connected, so all we had to do was set one off, and the rest would go off too. This was a brilliant idea. I couldn't wait to see how angry this was going to make the Umbitch.
Finally everything was all set up. All we had to do was light them.
"Who wants to do the honor?" George asked with a mischievous grin.
I took a step back and put my hands up, "this was your idea."
Fred and George looked at each other, then pointed their wands at the fireworks, "incendio," they said together.
"Let's get out of here," Fred said.
All three of us hurried back to the door hidden behind the tapestry. Instead of going inside immediately, we stood and watched how the fireworks looked before we heard footsteps hurrying down the hall. We quickly climbed through the doorway, and shut the door.
Soon we heard Umbridge and Filch outside in the corridor. They were shouting panicked instructions and desperately searching for the culprit. It only took a few seconds for us to be doubled over in silent laughter.
Tears of laughter were sliding down our cheeks, and we had our hands pressed over our mouths. My stomach ached from trying to keep myself from laughing to loudly. We were all shaking from holding it in. This might have been one of our best pranks yet.
The door opened and Harry slipped inside it quickly. He was also laughing, almost to the point of tears.
He was grinning, "impressive... very impressive. You'll put Dr. Filibuster out of business, no problem."
"Cheers," George said, "I hope she tries vanishing them next... they multiply by ten every time you try."
As soon as we were sure that all the teachers were gone, we climbed out of the passage way. We were all nearly late for class, and that might look a little bit suspicious. Fred and George said goodbye as we hurried off in different directions.
The fireworks continued to spread through the school the entire day. Despite the distraction, none of the teachers seemed to worried about stopping the fireworks themselves. Every teacher who had a problem with them, decided to summon Umbridge to take care of them instead.
Every time a teacher closed the door on a snarling Umbridge, it took everything I had to suppress my laughter. She'd spent her first day as headmistress chases fireworks around the school. I was unbelievably proud of Fred and George for coming up with this idea.
We were all practically hero's in the common room that night. Well, Fred and George more than me. But I didn't really mind, I'd had enough attention all year for all the wrong reasons. As far as I was concerned I didn't need much more.
Pretty soon I got tired and decided to head up to bed. I pulled Fred out of the center of attention, and to the back of the crowd.
"What exactly involves me taking a break from my glory?" He asked.
"I want a goodnight kiss," I told him.
"That can be arranged," he said with a smirk.
He put his hands around my waist and pulled me closer to him, and I wrapped my arms around his neck. Then he placed a gentle kiss on my lips, before pulling away slightly.
"I could always join you, ya know," Fred said, a huge smirk playing on his lips.
I playfully rolled my eyes at him, "you're not allowed in the girls dormitory," I said, reaching up and flicking his nose.
"Fine," he pouted.
"Maybe another time," I said with a wink, as I turned and walked up to the dormitory.
