Chapter 11: The Game plan"Ok, so here's the game plan" Hunter starts, a fresh layer of determination in his features.
"Wait, before we start, can I just ask one question?" I ask.
"Yeah?"
"Why do we always have to do this at my house?"
Everyone goes silent for a second, beginning to look around at their surroundings as though they've only just realised where we are.
"I don't know, your house is just closer, nicer and doesn't come with intruding parents" Hunter explains.
"Um ok, I guess that makes sense."
As you may have guessed by now, I am currently sitting in my living room with Heather, Hunter, Logan, Brendan and Ethan. Hunter called a meeting to discuss our game plan for the tournament. Personally, I don't think we need one, but since everyone else seems to think we do, I'm just going with what they think. Especially since I've been here for all of five minutes.
"Ok, so here's what's going to happen," Hunter starts, "as Ms Swan explained today in class, there are six different activities, overall. The first three take place on the first day. That means that each person in the group will have to do one activity. So we're here to find out each other's strengths, so we can distinguish who is more suited to each activity."
I look around at everyone else and they all seem down for the plan.
"Ok, so how about we go first" Hunter continues, gesturing to the guys and himself.
"Um ok, I guess I'm good at soccer and ball games," Brendan starts.
Hunter nods and looks to Ethan.
"I'm good at strategising and stuff like that."
"Told you he was a pussy" Logan mumbles.
Ethan glares at Logan.
"Ok then dickhead, what're you good at?"
Logan smirks.
"Well if you really want to know," he starts cockily, "I happen to be extremely good in the art of weight lifting. It also comes in handy during many extra curricular activities if you know what I mean."
He winks at me and Heather, slyly hinting at what he meant. I roll my eyes and scoot closer to Hunter, moving further away from Logan.
"I get it, you're already spoken for" Logan replies, smirking as he looks between Hunter and I.
The two of us simply look around the table in confusion and embarrassment. I swiftly shuffle back over towards Logan who suddenly seems more appealing. Logan laughs and wraps his arm around my shoulder.
"See, they all come back to me eventually" Logan says cockily.
I look up at him with raised eyebrows, silently daring him to say anything else.
"I get it! Don't worry Violet, you and me are best buds" he says with a wink and another one of his hair ruffles.
"Uh, if you guys don't stop doing that then I'm going to have to have a hair brush on me wherever I go!" I groan in annoyance at the tangles that have now formed in my hair.
All of the guys chuckle at my reaction whilst Heather looks over at me in understanding of my pain.
"Wait, what about you?" Logan asks, looking towards Heather, "care to take a ride on the Logan train?"
Heather rolls her eyes, and smirks.
"Nope."
Hunter suddenly leaps into action, recalling our previous conversation.
