I knew if I held tight enough you'd back away
Without a word left to say
I held so tight that you began to choke
I held so tight that everything broke
I knew what I was doing but it was like I had no control
It was like I was a monster without a soul
I just.. I wasn't meant to love
I just couldn't be enough
And my insecurity made me hold tighter
And it made it seem like I was a fighter
But I was just scared
I couldn' t see past my faults even if I dared
