"He won't be able to make it. He can't take it all" I heard Morgan said

I watched Malcolm writhe in pain. And I knew I have to do something.

Inabot ko ang kamay ni Elizabeth at agad naramdaman ang tingin niya sa akin

"Alagaan mong mabuti si Amari" Agad kong sabi at saka mabilis siyang binitawan

I took one step forward and then I ran towards my husband.

"Astrid, no!" Rinig kong sigaw ni Elizabeth followed by Morgan shouting

"Don't go there or it will come at you too!" Babala niya pero huli na.

Huminto ako sa harap ni Malcolm. Shielding him from the smoke. Nakita ko pa kung paanong ang isang linya ng usok ay lumipad patungo sa akin. Tinanggap ko ito ng buo.

Hinila ako ni Malcolm pababa upang daluhan siyang nakaluhod sa lupa. He hugged me from behind as we both continued to take all the these power to save our son's life.

"What are you doing?" He asked

"I can't let you do this alone" I stutter when I felt the pain intensified, "I'm your wife and Amari's mother, Malcolm. We should save him together"

"You'll die!"

Bahagya ko siyang nilingon. I met with his blazing electric blue eyes, I smiled

"At least, I'll die with you. We'll die together"

Humigpit ang pagkakayakap niya sa akin. He buried his face on the nook of my neck.

"Amari will grow up without us" he said

"We'll always watch him from the underworld"

Dinungaw ko ang aking anak na naroon sa aming harapan. He looked back at me with that tiny little smile on his face.

My heart melted.

"He looked just like you, Malcolm" I pouted and he chuckled

"Don't get jealous, wife. It's a good thing he looked just like me, the ladies will love him"

"I don't want him to be a manwhore!"

"I am not a manwhore" he sound offended

"Before you met me, you were" I chuckled pero tumigil rin

"I want to hug him. I want to say goodbye" my voice broke, "At may mga bilin ako" I bit my lip to suppress a sob

Malcolm kissed me on the cheek before he nodded

"Okay. We'll say goodbye to him. Together"

Yumuko ako upang kargahin ang aking anak mula sa lupa. The smoke were already cleared. Malcolm and I took it all. I heard Morgan and Elizabeth running towards us.

"That smoke will kill you from the inside now"

Paalala ni Morgan pero mas itinuon ko ang aking atensyon sa aking anak na hawak ko ngayon sa aking mga kamay.

Malcolm put his hands under my hands. Inaalalayan ang pagkarga ko sa kay Amari. Now it's like were both holding him.

"Hi baby" I cooed and I wasn't able to stop the tears from falling now.

"I am your mother. And this is your dad" tukoy ko kay Malcolm na nakayakap pa rin mula sa aking likuran.

Suminghap ako bago muling nagpatuloy, "And I want you to remember that, okay? Don't forget us Amari, because as much as we want to, we won't be able to stay with you until you grow up. But we want you to know, that we love you. Your mom and dad loves you so, so, so much. Don't let our absence make you feel otherwise"

I coughed blood. And right then I knew the smoked was starting to destroy me from the inside out. I have to do this quick.

"Now I also want to remind you to always listen to your aunt Elizabeth. She'll be taking care of you in our stead. Wag matigas ang ulo at lagi ka dapat makikinig sa kanya. Kumain ka lagi sa tamang oras at wag kang papagutom ha, anak. Tumulong ka sa gawaing bahay, magpakabait ka. Treat everyone with kindness and respect. As much as possible I want you to share what you have to those who needs it and expect nothing in return. Lumaki kang mabait, matapat, at matulungin. That's how we want you to grow up to be, Amari. Know what is wrong and what is right and don't be afraid to fight for what you know is right. But fight for it with respect and compassion. Wag kang mambabastos dahil lang alam mong tama ka at mali sila. I don't want you to be arrogant"

"You listen to your mother, Amari. Or else she'll come back and nag at you" Malcolm interrupted

"I don't nag!" Kunwaring offended kong sabi

Malcolm gave me a kiss to calm me down. His lips got tainted by the blood from my mouth but he did not care. And then he turned towards our son.

"Amari, when you grow up you will find love. And I'm sure you'll want some advice about it and so I'll give it to now. Look for a woman who is beautiful, intelligent, wise, fierce, well-driven, strong, brave, courageous, loving, and warm, you know, just like you mother. Dahil mapapanatag ako na mamahalin ka niya ng tapat at totoo. She will give color to your life, happiness, joy, love. She will take care of you and love you. She will give you a family to cherish and forever be thankful for. I should know, because that's what your mom gave me. And because you are my son, I also want that for you" he said

"How thoughtful of you to give our newborn baby love advice, Malcolm Bloodworth"

He chuckled, "He won't always be a baby, wife. He'll grow up"

"Whatever, Malcolm" I smirked

Suddenly I feel drowsy and I felt Malcolm tensed from behind me. The happy feeling is gone. And now I just feel so tired from all the pain I've suffered five minutes ago. I want to sleep.

Humilig ako sa dibdib ni Malcolm at ipinahinga ang aking ulo sa kanyang balikat. Binalik niya naman sa pagkakabaon ang kanyang ulo sa aking leeg.

"Malcolm, I'm tired" I said weakly

I felt his body shake. Mamasa masa rin ang aking leeg and I knew it was because he was crying.

My mind is too hazy to even ask him why he is crying.

"It's okay, baby you can rest now. You did great"

"And Amari?" Sabay tingin sa aking anak na karga ko pa rin sa aking mga kamay

"I'll hold him until you sleep" he said kissing my cheeks

"Alright. I love you, Malcolm" I said before I closed my eyes

"I love you too, Astrid Turner. I'll follow you there soon" and then I felt his lips against mine.

That was the last thing I heard before everything went peaceful.
