Here's part two! Autocorrect was being very difficult so I'm sorry if something makes zero sense. I tried.

Sophie didn't know what to say. I... She glanced at Tiergan. He held up his hands as if to say, "I'm not here."

Still, Sophie felt a little awkward even thinking about the implications of it. He was trying to kiss me. He wanted to kiss me, she thought, careful not to transmit it, and putting up a slight barrier so Fitz couldn't read her mind until she could get her thoughts under control. She knew they were supposed to be working on trust, but she didn't feel comfortable letting him see her most private thoughts, at least not at this moment.

Fitz seemed a little annoyed that she had blocked him, but he didn't say anything. Most importantly, he didn't slip past her blocking, even though she knew he was capable.

The rest of Telepathy was awkward. Somehow they each managed to come up with seven more secrets without mentioning the subject of "or we could skip the talking." Study Hall was just as uncomfortable. They sat across the table from each other, and Fitz kept trying to catch her eye. Everyone at the table knew something was going on, but nobody said anything. Not even Keefe.

After school, Sophie hid in her room to get away from her parents and Sandor. After a few minutes she heard a knock on the door. Can I come in?

I'd rather be alone, she responded.

Please, Sophie. I need to talk to you.

She closed off her mind hiding in her pillow. "Sandor! Don't let him come in!"

"Got it!" Sandor squeaked back.

She could hear Fitz sigh. "Sophie, come on! Please! I need to talk to you!"

She ignored him. "Sophie, please," he pleaded one last time before slumping back against the door. Sophie heard him slide down to sit on the floor. "I'm sorry about what I said in Telepathy. I mean, it was true, but I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."

Sophie shifted on her bed so she could hear him better.

"I just... Can I please come in to talk to you?"

Sophie got up, slowly walking over to the door. When she opened it, Fitz almost fell backwards onto her. He followed her into her room, closing the door behind him. "Sophie, I—"

They both glanced to the door as it slowly creaked open, revealing Sandor's head peeking in. Sophie glared at him until he slowly closed the door. Sophie could swear she still saw his eyes looking in.

Seeming to have the same feeling, Fitz decided to talk telepathically. Sophie, I wanted to kiss you, still do, actually — he blushed — because I really like you.

It was Sophie's turn to blush, hiding her face behind her hair. Fitz, I, um—

Look, Sophie. I get it. You don't feel the same way. He flinched only slightly. That's fine. I just, I need you to know that I do.

No, Fitz. I, um, I like you too. A lot.

Fitz didn't seem to know what to say. Finally, he took a step closer to her, resting his hand on the small of her back.

In that moment, Sophie remembered Sandor, and leaped away from Fitz right before her bodyguard swung the door open, a disapproving look on his face. After giving Fitz a warning look, Sandor stepped back out the door.

"I think that's my cue to leave," Fitz said sheepishly, pulling out his home crystal. Before holding it up to the light, he gave Sophie a quick peck on the cheek. She was still blushing, cheek tingling, when he left.
