Tam was woken up by Biana practically tackling him with a kiss. "Good morning!"
"Well, you seem awfully cheery today," Tam observed, brushing his bangs out of his eyes and sitting up, pulling her in close to him.
"I have a surprise!"
"Is it a good surprise, or like a 'you need me to help you hide a body' surprise?"
"Both," Biana admitted, biting her lip.
"Who did you kill?" Tam asked.
"No one. I actually did the opposite . . ." It came out like a question, and she nervously sat up, fiddling with the fabric of her nightdress.
"What's the opposite of kill–" Realization washed over his face. "Biana," he said, taking her hands in his.
She swallowed, not meeting his eyes. She was starting to regret telling him. They had been married less than a year. What if this was too fast for him? What if he didn't want this? She still wasn't sure how she felt about it herself.
"Biana. Biana, look at me." Tam pulled her into his lap. "Are you . . . ?"
She nodded. "I'm pregnant."
He cupped her face in his hands, kissing her. When they pulled apart, he couldn't stop smiling. "I can't believe this."
Biana bit her lip again? "Is it a good surprise?"
"Yes. Of course." He kissed her again. "Of course it is. We should tell everyone."
"Yeah. I was thinking my parents, then yours, then the rest of our friends."
Tam flinched at the mention of his parents.
Biana tilted her head. "You really don't want to tell your parents that you have a daughter?"
"It's a girl?"
Biana nodded, taking his hands in hers. He couldn't stop smiling, kissing her again. "Fine. We can tell them."
She rolled her eyes. "I would've told them anyway."
"I know. One of the great things about having you as my wife is that you totally respect my boundaries," Tam teased.
She grinned, getting out of bed to get ready.
