"I didn't mean to overstep any boundaries." Tam and Sophie

On a completely different note from yesterday's author's note (by the way I just want to say that I really didn't mean any one person and I sincerely hope that no one feels personally attacked or insulted because that was absolutely not my intention) I wanted to say thank you! This one-shot book is at 14K reads, Nightfall is at 18K, Moonlark's Love is almost at 1K, and I recently reached 70 followers. I do this because I love writing and sharing my writing and connecting with other amazing writers, but I do want to say that I really do appreciate all the reads and votes and comments I get. I make a point to never ask for things like that, because I really think that's just not the point, but I want you all to know that it does still mean a lot to me and it doesn't go unnoticed.

Anyway, Dolphin417 requested this one. This does have a little spoiler from Nightfall. Not a big one, but if you haven't read it I might stay away from it.

For those of you who have read Nightfall, this would take place before Alvar woke up. Also, sorry it's so short!

The Black Swan had just finished their meeting, and had assigned small groups to work on each project. Tam, Sophie, and Fitz were going to go with Livvy to see what they could do with Alvar. Fitz was talking to Biana off to the side before Livvy was ready to go.

As Marella left, she waved at Tam, smiling at him. Sophie noticed him blush a little.

"Do you like her?"

She hadn't realized she had asked the question aloud until he stiffened. "I'm sorry," she apologized immediately. "I didn't mean to overstep any boundaries."

"It's fine," Tam said, his voice quieter than usual.

They went back to waiting in slightly awkward silence, until Tam said, "I don't."

Sophie looked up at him.

"Like Marella," he clarified. "I like, um."

He glanced over at Biana, his cheeks flaming.

Sophie nodded, biting back a smile.

A few moments later, Livvy arrived, carrying a bag of supplies to bring with them. "Ready to go?" she asked.

Fitz came back over then. Biana offered a shy smile at Tam before leaving to work on her own project. Tam shot a look at Sophie that said, Don't you dare say anything.
