Falling for them all

Mark

After school Alex walked me home and was going to stay a while but he seemed to have remembered that he promised to pick up some stuff for his mom so he went off running. I watched him run until he rounded the corner then went inside. As soon as I closed the door I was almost knocked over by my dog, Mark. He is a Siberian Husky with the most beautiful sky blue eyes. I got him for Christmas when I was six from some guy I hardly remember. I think he was a friend of my dad. I gave him the name Mark because that was the name of my imaginary boyfriend. Lame, I know.

"Hey Mark! How was my baby today? Probably the same as always right?"

Mark wagged his tail and gave out bark. I pat him on the head and then I look around the living room and see a blue sticky note on the coffee table. I walk over and pick it up. It read:

Your father and I have gone to run some errands but we will be back soon enough. I left some money on the kitchen table, so order some pizza. We love you sweetie!

I let out a loud sigh and Mark nudged my leg. I look down at him and I see that he brought me the phone. I swear that he is probably one of the smartest dogs in the world. I would brag to people but he acts stupid in front of everyone else. I really don't understand him at all. I picked up the phone and ordered a pizza like mom suggested and then sat down on the couch. I turned on the TV. to see what was on.

Mark jumped up and rested his head on my lap. I know some people would call me crazy for talking to my dog, but Mark is like my diary.

"Hey Mark, I'm probably imagining things , but I think Alex might like me back. Even if it's just for a short period of time, I'd be happy."

Mark is the only one I can tell everything to. Honestly I think it only because he can understand me and the fact that he can't talk. I let out a loud yawn and my eyes kept flickering shut. It was a long day today. I tried my best to beat it or at least until the pizza got here. I was just so tired and the warmth of having Mark on me wasn't helping. I lifted my had up to my chest and held the ruby on my necklace. I just held It and sat there lost In thought. My vision began to get as foggy as my mind already was. I knew I wasn't going to be able to stay awake much longer so I finally gave up on drifted off into my dreamland. Mark noticed me falling asleep so he fixed himself into his sleeping position and slept with me.
