Confession Cover Up

Alex looked surprised by my sudden confession and looked at me with his expression full of hope and slightly flustered.

 He tried to act normal but he stuttered his words and said "Y-you really l-love me?"

I yelled in response "Idiot! Don't misunderstand! I love you like a brother! Anyway, why do you think I hate you?"

Alex looked crestfallen and he gave me such a serious look that it sent chills down my spine. His sad expression made me want to run over and hug him. I wonder If he looked like that because he likes me too. I doubt it, geez I'm such a daydreamer!

 He hesitated a little before saying "It's because it feels like you have been avoiding me and we aren't as close as we used to be. I really miss hanging out with you."

Is that the only reason why he thinks I hate him? It's true I haven't been hanging out with him as much as I used to, but that is because I don't want to be around him when he's going around flirting and it's also because I get busy with school activities. I guess he feels like we are drifting apart.

 I replied to him with soft voice "Alex, I'm sorry. I've just had a lot on my mind. If you want I can hang out with you every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at lunch. I promise, and I won't break my promise!"

Alex beamed at me and said "Yeah, I would love that! You better not break your promise or else!"

I was relived to see him happy again then laughed and said "Or else what?"

He gave me a smirk before saying "That's for me to know and for you to find out."

Before I could say anything back the bell rang. I swear the more I heard the bell ring, the more it sounded like a church bell. Alex looked at the clock and looked annoyed and swore to himself. He got up and started walking towards the door.

 He had his hand on the door knob before saying "Don't you dare forget."

He left me alone in the room as he shut the door behind him. I let out a long sigh from all the tension i had from accidentally confessing to Alex. I stayed behind a few extra seconds before getting up to leave and as I put my hand on the door knob I could've sworn I heard a boy whisper my name. I shook my head and started heading to class. I guess my homeroom teacher was late again because everyone was standing outside. One of my best friends , Savi, came running up to me with a big smile on her face. I could never take my eyes off of her soft, black hair with a red streak in her hair, but it only reached her shoulders. She wore a blue shirt that fade to red at the bottom and her black jeans. I honestly thought she was beautiful. I was especially jealous of her dark green eyes. We chatted all of homeroom and kept laughing when she found out about Alex and I being alone in the morning and my covered up confession. Even though she was laughing at me all the time, she always gave me advice. She had a special way of doing things but that's what I loved about her.
