Luke had carried me to a house that he said had a protective barrier. He set me down on the couch and I laid down still trying to calm down.

"I'm going to go look for Mark and Alex. Keep the window curtains down and try to calm her down" said Luke and headed out the door

"I'll see what's in the kitchen so you can eat." said Evan

"Okay. I'll see if I can calm her down." replied James

Evan nodded and disappeared into the kitchen. James walked over and sat down next to me. He gently brushed away a strand of hair.

"You wore a dress and it got ruined by the fire and it's stained by blood." he said quickly

I stayed quiet and only looked at him with sad eyes. He suddenly hugged me tightly.

"I'm sorry but this is all I can do for you." he whispered

I grip the back of his shirt and dig my face into his shoulder.

"Lay down with me?" I asked him

I felt him shuffle to lay down. I pressed my face into chest as he wrapped his arms around me. He began to pet my head and I began to calm down. His touch was full of warmth and was so calming. He started to hum a song I didn't recognize but it sounded like a child's lullaby.

" Just forget everything

come with me

I'll always make you smile

You'll never know sadness

No more worry" he sang softly

I felt my eyelids grow heavy. His warmth, his hand, and his voice soothed me. I heard Evan come in when I closed my eyes.

"She fell asleep?" asked Evan

"Yeah" James replied softly

"You know, I'm kinda of jealous of you and Luke." said Evan

"Why?" asked James

"She ran into Luke's arms and you were able yo calm her down. While I did nothing that helped her." explained Evan

"I see" replied James

I didn't hear the rest because I fell asleep and dreamt about my next move.
