Chapter XXXV

The next morning, the seven vampires had lunch together then had parted ways, starting their journey towards their destination, except for the 2jae couple who had decided to cuddle into their room.

" What do you want to do today? ", Jaebum asked.

" Staying like this all day. ", Youngjae answered cuddling more into the older's chest. The latter laughed.

" Don't you want to hang out? "

" Not yet. Let's say... in an hour? "

" I'm fine with it. ", Jaebum answered.

But only half an hour later, the prince had been called by the King.

" You are leaving for three days to attend a learning process. "

" A... learning process? ", Jaebum repeated, completely dumbfounded.

" Did you think the art of governing could be learned as you go along or was natural? You have to be prepared for this. "

" But, father... I can't take the lead for now. I don't want to take Youngjae away from his world. Everything is still new to him. And I'm not ready yet to replace you for now. It's not like you were going to die anyway. "

" I know it. Do you think I don't know my own son by heart? I know all of it. But I have to train you. Every year, until you accept to take my place on the throne, you will have to attend those three days of training. "

" He will stay at the castle. "

" B-but father, that's impossible!! I can't stay away from Youngjae for that much of time!! We have never been apart since he has become a vampire. I know that painful feeling felt because of our link when we are apart. I refuse to let him undergo such pain. Let him come with me or I won't go. "

" Jaebum. Just go, that's all. You will be back in three days. There's no danger of death in three days. "

" That's what your saying... "

The King punched his throne's armrest.

" Im Jaebum!! I command you to immediately go to these private lessons!! And don't ever come back before three days!! That's an order!! "

Jaebum didn't have any choices. It was the King's command. And you couldn't disobey any of the King's orders.

" If anything happens to Youngjae during those three days, then I won't ever come back to the Kingdom and you can find yourself another replacement. "

On those dry words, Jaebum got out of the throne room. He cursed and ruffled his hair out of angriness. How could the King do that to him when he perfectly knew about his relationship with Youngjae? He knew how Jaebum had suffered when Youngjae rejected him, and how Youngjae was depressed when they got separated when he was still a human. Did he want to kill them or what?

And how would JB explain it to Youngjae? They had planned to hang out and Jaebum wanted to bring Youngjae to his mother's grave to introduce them. It could sound eerie but it meant a lot to Jaebum. But now it was all ruined. He was apprehensive of the thought of leaving his lover. And he knew that the latter would let him go with a smile but as soon as he would be gone, it would fade away. Youngjae always thought of sparing the older, leaving his own feelings on the side.

When he entered the bedroom, he found Youngjae getting himself ready to hang out. Jaebum was having a heartache. Using his speed, he backhugged Youngjae after stopping right behind him quite harshly, making the younger jump a little.
