{Kathryn's pov}
[airport]
5:30 am

"Honey, please be careful," my mom pleaded while walking me to my group.

"I will," i replied, dragging my luggage harder and showing slightly more annoyance than I had intended.

"I'm sorry honey, I'm just not going to see you for two months! It's so scary. Kathryn, when you have your own children you'll underst-" she started before I cut her off.

I looked back at her.

"Okay, okay. That's enough. I'm fifteen mom," I said laughing.

She nodded and laughed a little then smiled. I smiled back.

We then said our goodbyes and hugged.

I was sure I'd miss her, but I was too excited to acknowledge that fact too much.

After she said goodbye and hugged me a million more times, I walked over to my friends, Kami, Sarah, Grace, and Ali.

I hugged Ali happily and listened to their conversation. Soon I joined in, laughing mostly.

About five minutes after I had gotten there, the head chaperone announced, " Okay guys, before we get onto the plane you may go to the restrooms. After all, it is a ten hour flight."

She finished her small announcement with a slight laugh which made me look at my friends and mimic her. They all laughed at the joke.

"Okay kids, you have ten minutes to freshen up. Use it WISELY," she concluded as my friends and I ran to the bathroom.

I put on a fresh coat up lipgloss while Ali redid her eyeliner and mascara. Sarah changed into more comfortable clothes, while Grace and Kami braided each others hair.

I had chosen one of the comfiest outfits in my closet. I had on my solid black tights, black vans, and my black and white thrasher hoodie. My hair was straight down, basically how I always wore it.

We left the bathroom after a few minutes and got to our school group just in time to board the plane.

I, of course, sat next to Ali.

We had an extra seat, so we put our carryons on it.

Grace, Kami, and Sarah sat together right in front of Ali and I.

Ali and i talked for the first few hours of the trip then we decided to put our earbuds in and keep to ourselves for a bit.

I fell asleep after a little bit, while listening to The Other:Lauv, which was one of my favorites.

[time skip]

I woke up to someone shaking me slightly.

I looked over at Ali, who had started poking me eventually.

"Kathryn! Wake up! We're literally 30 minutes away ahh!" She said excitedly.

I couldn't blame her. Of course this would be exciting. A new place, a new lifestyle. I just hoped it'd turn out like I'd planned.
