{kathryn's pov}
[continuation of outside]

i bit my lip. AT HARVEY.

it wasn't a small, awkward lip bite. it was a full on, accidental, "i like you" lip bite.

oops.

he smiled and looked away like he was happy i did it.

what is he doing?

watch him go crazy in a little bit.

once out of ali's grasp, max asked," how do you..um.." he started, gesturing towards my skateboard.

i rolled my eyes playfully and laughed.

"c'mon," i replied to his unfinished question, walking back out into the middle of the road.

"kathryn you're going to be run over." ali said, hesitantly following max and i.

i looked back at her and nodded.

"hopefully," i shout back, making max laugh.

i saw harvey coming too.

wow. he's just wanting drama isn't he.

max and ali looked back too.

"hey why are you coming?" max asked harvey, confused.

"i don't know how to skate either so why not learn?" harvey replies, proudly smiling a little.

max just rolled his eyes and looked back at me.

{harvey's pov}
[learning to skate]

i placed one foot on the board and pushed off like kathryn instructed.

after a few forceful pushes i gathered enough courage to place my second foot onto the board.

i glided down the street easily.

"this is great!" i yell to them, throwing my hands into the air.

i had to stop and turn around instead of easily circling around without halting the ride.

"great job harvey!!" kathryn shouted to me smiling.

i smiled back. no more mean harvey. it's only nice, good boy harvey now.

ali and max were talking while kathryn seemed to be my personal cheerleader. not gonna lie, she looked great doing it too.

once max kinda got the hang of it, ali cheered for him. i saw where this was going. ali and max. me and kathryn. perfect.

"who's next?" max asked, getting off the skateboard.

" can i go now? " kathryn asked laughing.

max looked at ali.

"i don't like skating," she replied to his look.

he nodded and handed kathryn the board.

"watch and learn losers, watch and learn," she said jokingly, looking at us.

max smiled and i laughed.

she easily got onto the board and circled around all three of us.

"this is what you call talent," she announced, grinning.

i rolled my eyes playfully and max laughed.

"i could do better if i'd been skating for two years," max joked.

"i doubt it," kathryn says, taking off down the road and popping a few ollies.

"she's been announced the best teen skater in california," ali whispered to us. we nodded.

"wow," max and i said in unison. we looked at eachother and rolled our eyes.

kathryn came back and picked up her board smoothly after getting off of it.

"you're good," max commented.

"she's beautif- i..i mean she's great!" i reply back accidentally giving some of my feelings away.

oops.

she blushes a little and max looks at me like: what the heck harvey?

i shrug at him.

we all soon walk back inside and ali and kathryn put away the skateboard.

while ali and kathryn were in their room putting kathryn's skateboard away and freshening up to go to the mall, i talked to max in our room while we freshened up.

"hey max, about the party tomorrow evening..." i started.

he looked at me, and i could feel that he knew what this was about.

"i know, you don't want to see her," he finished for me. i nodded.

"i'm sorry harvey, but do this for kathryn. ask her to be your date." he suggested. i smiled a little.

"do you think she'd say yes?" i ask, perking up.

"i see the way you look at eachother and it seems like a big yes.." he replies, smiling at me.

i nod.

"thanks. i'm gonna ask her," i said, confidently. this was going to be amazing.
