we left right after the whole incident in the basement. max and ali didn't ask questions, seeing as though i was a little shaken up and harvey still looked furious.

while we walked home in silence, i slowed down a little and walked next to max.

"oh hey kathryn," he said with a small smile. i smiled back. "hey," i replied.

"i have a question," i said, looking at him.

"okay," he said, waiting for my curious words to flow out of my mouth, into the air.

"who are ashley, jess, and dani?" i asked, wanting- no needing to know why they all hated me after i told them about mine and harvey's relationship.

max winced a little at my question and shook his head a little.

"well..they're harvey's ex's who kinda happen to be besties. they're the absolute worst people ever! they're those snobby, makeup obsessed, clueless popular girls." he informed me.

"wait? how many ex's does he actually have?" i asked in awe that three of them were in a group. there definitely were more.

"almost every girl in the school," he said quietly.

"wow..it's that bad?" i asked, seeing how bad harvey's player motives actually were.

he nodded.

"sorry kathryn," he said.

i shook my head.

"he's different now..he's changed so i'm already over it," i said, trying to convince myself more than max in that moment.

he shook his head.

"nah. you're not. it'll take time. he has definitely changed so that's good, but just be prepared to have a group of ex's after you.." he said bluntly.

i was shocked. so many broken hearts from one boy could never be a good sign.

"i'll be fine," i said, reassuring myself yet again.

he laughed. "tell yourself that all you want kathryn. i know i'm sounding harsh, and i'm sorry for that, but i'm just warning you. we're best friends so don't worry because i'll always be here, through mobs of evil girls, or with a breakup." he said with a gentle smile.

i smiled back and nodded.

"thank you..maxyyy," i said playfully.

he rolled his eyes.

"that's not my name." he said, being playfully annoyed.

"awww maxy, are you annoyed at me?" i asked with a laugh.

"yes, i am," he said, not looking at me.

"i'm sorry..not," i replied with a laugh.

he huffed playfully then broke into a smile.

i laughed along with him after a few seconds.

"thanks for being a great friend," i said.

"no problem. i'm the best, i know. you're a great friend too so thanks kathryn," he said with another smile.

this kid is so nice i swear.

harvey, be like your brother.

once at the mills', ali and i went and changed in our room.

"kathryn what happened? harvey looked so mad and you didn't talk to him at all," she said, sliding a hoodie i've never seen on before.

i think harvey's honestly kinda bipolar.

"i met some of his ex's and he saved me from a dude in a closet...it's a long, irrelevant story. he's dated basically every girl at his school ali. what am i going to do?" i vented.

haha..

"ouch..hasn't he changed? you said he did, and i didn't see him talking to other girls.." she replied.

i nodded.

"he's changed, but what if he goes back?" i ask, worriedly.

she shakes her head.

"he won't kathryn..he really likes you, i can see the way he looks at you," she says with a smile.

i smiled back.

"thanks ali," i say, thankful for another amazing friend.

"you're welcome," she replied with a hug.

when we pulled away, i looked at the hoodie again.

"ali where'd you get that hoodie?" i asked, raising an eyebrow.

she blushed a little.

omg.

"max gave it to me..do i look okay with it on?" she replied, a light pink in her cheeks.

i nodded and smiled.

"it's so cute. you two are adorable," i said, getting in bed.

ali and i talked for a few more minutes before i finally was able to find peace in a deep sleep.

before actually going to sleep, harvey kept popping into my mind. his details from his past wouldn't leave me alone, so i was especially thankful for the ability to fall asleep.
