Hongbin was loyally waiting for Heeyoung to wake up. He wanted to take care of her and helped her to build her own life back. He decided to take her home but there's one problem, her aunt wanted to be her guardian and there's only one reason, her wealthiness.
Flashback a week before accident.
Heeyoung's father, Hyunwook called Hongbin to come into his office. He was preparing something and reading some text on the paper.
"Mr.Jang?" Hongbin peeked through the door and he smiled before he closed the door and took a sit in front of Hyunwook.
"I'm preparing my will.. can you wait a minute? I want to print another documents." He continued to focus in front of the computer after Hongbin nodded. A will? For what? Hongbin was wondering and cannot help but observed him. After he done printed all the documents he put all the papers inside a folder and handed it to Hongbin.
"Why..are you giving me this?" He hesitantly accepted and Hyunwook allowed him to read the content and he did. While he was reading, Hyunwook explained the situation to him.
"Heeyoung's grandfather left her almost half of his assets and she's now near 25 which means she can handle it by herself but I'm yet to tell her about this. The thing is her aunt, my sister didn't quite like about it, she felt unfair as her niece got more than she deserved so I'm worried if something's happened to me right before I put her name as the owner of the wealth, her aunt might becomes her guardian and changed the assets into her name. And since you are close to her and deserve to handle the wealth without being under anyone, I've decided to put both of you and my daughter's name as the inheritors of my wealth, at least you are going to be her guardian if I'm gone. And you can take care of her shares up until she's 25."
Hongbin let his mouth opened as he read the will and listened to his explanation. "But..why me? I mean I don't even have any connection with you or Heeyoung officially. I kinda.. felt guilty to accept this.." Hyunwook shook his head and smiled.
"I know she loves you. I don't have anyone else except for my wife and my daughter. My siblings are all into money and I don't want to give them anything because they are still fighting over our late father's wealth. I keep thinking what if we left Heeyoung alone in this world and I realized that I didn't prepare anything for her to survive. I hope you or Eunwoo can be my hope and be by her side when she's in need. All the things in the will I have discussed with my lawyer so you can just call him, I put his number and name there, if anything happened to me, you know what to do."
Hongbin was thinking so much and he can't even think of anything to reply. At the end he accepted it because he noticed that Hyunwook almost begged at him as he already clasped his hands.
"I don't know why do you trust me so much..but as you've already gave me this..I feel responsible to take care of her doesn't matter if you're here or..otherwise.. I hope you can take care of your health instead of worrying if something happen to you Sir.."
Hyunwook laughed. "Aigoo you're still young, we are getting old and now its not just getting sick because of illness, we also die because of accident and even in our sleep, we cannot predict what happen. I believed in you and seeing how you handle my company, it makes me feel you're so dependable..ouh by the way this is my sister's number. Just in case you need it" He wrote it on a piece of paper and passed it to Hongbin.
"We're going to be her guardian right? Cause she's alone and there's nobody except us as her family members" Heeyoung's aunt, Hyunmi whispered to her husband in the room. Hongbin can hear them as he's only a few meters apart and can feel like they were staring at him.
