Dream.
Most of my friends told me that when a situation went way too far than expected, they always claimed firstly that it was just a dream, or a nightmare. They were too shocked to accept the reality that their mindset shifted to the fact that it was unreal. After all, a dream was just someone's imagination playing in their minds when someone was fast asleep. Sometimes, they felt so real.
I was obviously able to relate with them because I have been in through a lot of unexpected events. Most of them were unforgettable, especially when I referred back to the past. One example of such problem was this current situation: Rena complimenting me as a cute guy.
Is she for real?
She's fucking with my head...
My face burned mostly due to the wrath of the summer, but now, I doubt it. Blood started cycling fast all over my head, causing the loss of heat through my skin. My cheeks were probably beet red as of now, so I didn't want to face her. She was still unaware that I heard it, and I wanted to keep it that way.
...I'm just going to pretend I didn't hear it.
When I defied myself by looking at Rena, she was playing with her nails. Even from side view, I could perceive how beautiful she was. Her smooth skin, her reddish pink lips, her braided hair... basically, almost everything that I see was... perfect on her.
She blinked once, then her bright blue eyes trailed towards me. At this, I squirmed on my spot, and quickly looked away.
What the fuck am I doing...?
"You know," Rena spoke out, "sitting here makes me remember that we used to hang out here a lot. We always bought popsicles and eat here during our summer vacation. I remembered you have some stomach problems the next day because you ate too much."
I faintly recalled about that time, and when I did, I inwardly groaned.
Can't believe I used to do that.
"Yeah. I remembered." I said.
"You eat like 5, Ed." She teased. "That's a bit too much!"
"I know." I grumbled. "It was the dumbest idea I could ever think of."
"Well, don't think like that! We were still kids after all!" She laughed, and iy always send tingles down my spine. My stomach instantly flipped at the thought of how perfect her laughs were.
"Y... yeah, I guess... " I scratched my head. She's right. I used to be that little kid who was literally determined about finding out everything he never knew.
"I also remembered how we would always go swimming in the pool with our friends." Rena continued on with the story. While she did so, I would always imagine the scene that she was denoting to. "There used to be a water slide, and you would always try to do something exciting, like jumping from the top! I clearly remembered that one! Damn! N-now I'm a bit nostalgic."
There, the ghosts of the past appeared by the swimming pool. Rena, Seb, Aly, Raphael and Lynn was waiting inside the pool while I tried to some 'amazing tricks'.
Seb and Lynn would always warn me of the risks and my stupidity, but being the rebellious kid I was, I never listened. Raphael and Aly would always cheer me on, but Rena... she was just watching me hopefully.
I would try to flip midair before diving into the pool. When I did it, I earned cheers.
I gradually closed my eye briefly and let out a soft sigh. As I did so, an interesting idea crossed my mind, and it was one of the most decent thing that I could ever think of. And most surely, Rena is going to love it.
