Pj sat in his bedroom. The main light that hung from the ceiling was turned off but the lamp that sat in the corner was emitting a warm, golden glow. He turned his head to the clock on his desk; it read 10:17pm. As he looked at the clock he began to feel a sharp, throbbing pain in his head. Putting a shaking hand to it, he noticed that his heart was also beating unusually quickly, despite him feeling strangely calm (at least compared to his often nervous state of mind). His eyes scanned the room urgently- it seemed disgusting. He wasn't sure why, but it did. Normally, he found the overall aura fairly relaxing. Now, he felt almost as if it wasn't even his. At least, that's what his disoriented, half-asleep brain was telling him.
Pj woke up the next morning in a house that was almost unrecognizable. He sat up and looked around. The picture that hung above his desk was practically tormented to shreds and lopsided on its hanger. The cupboards were emptied, their contents scattered around the room, messily. He slowly pulled back the covers and stood, he was still in his clothes from the night before but they were dusty and ripped. At his feet was a smashed lightbulb. His eyes wandered up to where the main light usually hung. The strangest thing was that he couldn't remember doing anything. Unless, of course, it was someone else.
"It's the only reasonable explanation I can think of!" He shouted at his friend, who simply stared at him with an evident look of disbelief.
"You sure do have a funny idea of reasonable. You've been watching too many horror movies by the sound of things, Peej."
"Oh come on, since when have I ever been able to watch a horror movie without becoming an absolute mess?" Pj tried to reason.
"Look at yourself, you are a mess!"
"Stephanie!"
"Sorry, but you're being completely illogical. Just don't dwell on it. I'll even help you clean up."Two weeks passed and it happened again, not to Pj though. He was sat watching football in his once again clean house when the phone rang.
"Pj?"
"Hey Steph, are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine I just need some help cleaning my house."
