Chapter 23

"My second chance. What does he mean by that?" Donovan asked. I would like to know as well. What does he want with me. Everyone else seems to be statues not saying anything.

"I guess I'm the only one that's present." Donovan said.

"Sorry Donovan, I'm just trying to comprehend what he mean by my second chance." I said. Nathaniel still had his phone out so I took it from him to take a picture of the photo.

"We should really tell someone about this?" Trey said. Everyone seem to be out of their state of shock now.

"We can't say anything because there's no proof that he killed anybody. All we have are these pictures." Spencer said.

"Shouldn't that be enough to get him investigated." Donovan said.

"That's not enough, he can get investigated but he can still hide evidence." I said. Savannah looked at the time.

"Guys we need to get out of here it's midnight." She said. We quickly put the file back. Nathaniel took one more picture of the room before shutting the door. When we made it back to the foyer we saw headlights flash through the window.

"Quickly we need to get out of here. Let's go through the back." Emily said. We quickly made a run for it. Trey was the last one to leave. He made sure the door was locked before closing it and putting the key back in the flower pot. We made it to the gate and quickly hopped over it. We made a run for it until we stopped at my aunt and uncle house. We was catching our breath.

"Man that was close but messed up at the same time. Does anybody know what he meant under Gabriella's picture?" Donovan said.

"I think he wants Gabriella to be his second chance." Jack said.

"At what, is what I what to know." Donovan said.

"I don't know." Emily said. "It's obvious, he couldn't get Gabriella's mother so what's the next best thing." Savannah said. Everyone looked at me.

"That's bull. He can't possibly mean me." I said.

"With you being a future queen, maybe he thinks that if he marries you he can be king." Emily said.

"He's like old and crazy. Why would I want to marry a murderer. Matter of fact I wouldn't marry him if he was the last wolf in Deadwood." I said.

"What are we going to do now? This proves that he had something to do with Gabriella's mother and father death. He probably hurt prince Michael as well." Spencer said.

"Even if we show someone the pictures he can always turn it around to say he was being framed." Nathaniel said.

"We have proof." Donovan said.

"You're missing the big picture." Trey said sitting on the steps.

"What would that be?" Donovan asked.

"We broke into his house. That would be the first question the police, the council, and the king and queen would ask us." he said.

"Then what are we suppose to do?" Spencer said.

"I say we stay quiet for now." Nathaniel said. At that moment a black SUV drove up. James got out of it and made his way over to us.

"We've been searching for you everywhere princess." James said.

"I'm sorry James I had to see my friends." I said.

"Didn't you see them at the high school?" He said.

"I did but I forgot to discuss something with them." I said.

"Princess it's after midnight and everyone is inside. What was so important that needed to be discussed after midnight?" He said with a raised eyebrow. I looked at my friends for some help but they looked more like deers caught in headlights.
