I sat there with my mouth open and closing like a goldfish out of water.

"What?" I said.

"Yeah, didn't your grandfather tell you. Wolf Crestlake is the neighboring wolf town that Maxwell brother is king of. Nobody in Deadwood knows that except for the Blackwoods and a few guards that traveled with Maxwell knows." he said.

"But, but why was I not told this. Did they have a fallen out?" I said.

"No, it's just that they've been busy with ruling their own town." He said. So if Marcus doesn't know about the treaty or that both kings are brothers then if he was trying to cause a wedge between them it wouldn't work.

"Tell me James, in the early nineties a teenager was killed in Wolf Crestlake, did anyone find out how she died?" I asked.

"Her throat was clawed out but no one knew if she had any enemies. She didn't from what I heard.  was the kindness most gentlest girl in that town. Some say she was compared to your mother when it came to personality." He said. At that moment everything came together and a light bulb went off in my head.

"Tell me about Jonathan Blackwood." I said.

"I really shouldn't be telling you this so don't go back repeating what I said. Maxwell will get me for this. Jonathan Blackwood is the older brother of Maxwell. Years before you and when I was still in my mother's womb, Maxwell and Jonathan's parents Christopher and Aaliyah Blackwood ruled both Deadwood and Wolf Crestlake. Now what people said are true that the Blackwood family created Deadwood but down the line each descent forgot to mention that Deadwood was much bigger. When Maxwell and Jonathan were born Christopher decided that Deadwood and Wolf Crestlake would be split into two towns where each brother would rule. As they got older Christoper put them through series of test to see which town would fit what brother. When it was time to rule, Jonathan ruled Wolf Crestlake and Maxwell Deadwood where both would live in harmony. Now from time to time Maxwell would visit his older brother. Now I know what you are thinking how come there hasn't been any war between the two. Well apparently in the will of their parents if one brother decide to fight the other then that brother will lose his power but so will the other one. Then the ruler of both lands will fall on the offspring of a Blackwood child. Of course Jonathan is married but never produced any offspring. Which of course made him jealous because Maxwell could. It was Maxwell that told him to not be jealous because he could never attack his brother because if it wasn't for him he could never be the king he is today. That most of the things he does is by learning from Jonathan. He also told Jonathan that when the time comes he will send his sons over for a visit because raising two boys takes a town. When your father died Maxwell went to Jonathan. I remember that day like it was yesterday. It was the middle of the night after your father died. Wolf Crestlake was sleeping at that time and the only ones awake was the guards patrolling. We had to tell them it was an emergency for our king to see their king. When we got to the estate Jonathan and his wife Rachel was waiting for us. Maxwell got out of the car with red bloodshot eyes and fell to the ground. Jonathan ran over to help pick up is brother. Maxwell told him that Maximilian died that night and that you was gone. When he calmed Maxwell and was able to send him to a room he demanded we tell him what happened. We told him and he was angry. He demanded a full investigation of the incident." James said. Then shouldn't he have seen it as a murder. " What did he find in the investigation?" I asked. "He told us we were idiots and it wasn't an accident. He said it wasn't adding up and that we shouldn't stop looking." He said. But you did.

"When Maxwell woke up that morning he couldn't hear about it anymore and had to worry about the burial and his wife. Jonathan asked him about Nina and her unborn child. Maxwell told him that Nina left Deadwood because she couldn't take the heartbreak of losing the people she loved." James said.
