Saturday morning me, aunt Ella, grandma Victoria, and grandma Oliva was in the SUV driving to a mall that was in the next state over that was occupied by humans. Why they say it like that I don't know, aren't we human as well just turn into wolves on a full moon. I was in the middle of a group text asking everyone to meet at the library when I get back when something caught my eye. On the side of the road was a shrine surrounded by flowers, candles, teddy bears, and pictures. We past by it too quickly to see who it was meant for.
"Hey that shrine back there, who is it for?" I asked.
"It's for your father. Back there was the site of the crash." Aunt Ella said. This was the first time I ever got to see the site where it all happened all those years ago. My friends and I mentioned it but I never thought I would get the chance to see it which is surprising because I might have past it when I moved here.
We went to different department stores inside this very huge mall. We tried different dresses to see which one would match what I needed for the parties. There was one last store we didn't try which was Nordstrom. My aunt asked the young women where she could find a gown inspired by Snow White in the color red. She told us to follow her and she guided us to the second floor of the store. She took us to the part that held all red dresses and told us we could look around. I took one side of the rack while my aunt took the other side. She kept pulling dresses out but they wasn't what I was looking for. I went through each dress having no such luck until one dress caught my eye. The bottom of the dress was big and frilly. Five layers of frill with two layers black while the rest of it red. The body part was like a corset with black lace crossing in front of it, sequence crystals along the breast part of the dress and down the side. It was truly an elegant dress. "Aunt Ella look." I said bringing the dress to her.
"Wow that is a beautiful dress. Let's see if you can fit it." She said. We walked back to the woman and asked where we could find the dressing rooms. She took us to them and I went into one to try on the dress. Aunt Ella was calling my grandmother to let them know I found a dress. I carefully stepped into the dress and zipped it up the best I could. When I walked out my aunt was looking at her phone.
"Well what do you think?" I asked. She stood up and circled around to look at it.
"It's beautiful, I think this is the dress. Actually I don't think you need no other dress this is beautiful." She said. The salesperson was nodding her head in approval. I turned to look in the mirror. The dress fit perfectly on my body. Both grandmothers found their way to the dressing room and saw me in the dress.
"Oh Gabriella that dress is beautiful." Grandma Olivia said.
"It most certainly will turn heads." Grandma Victoria said.
"We'll take this one." Aunt Ella told the sales woman. She left the dressing room to help other customers.
"Now all we need is the jeweley, shoes, and I do believe I have a tiara to match." Victoria said.
"I get to where a tiara." I said with a smile on my face.
"Well of course you are a princess. Normally you won't be wearing one but on some occasions you will." She said.
"I don't think she would be needing a second gown. I think this one is perfect for both balls." My aunt said.
"I think you're right." Victoria said.
"I think I can find the perfect mask to go along with that dress." Olivia said. I went back to take the dress off. Once I removed it, I gave it to my aunt to hold. We went to pay for it and it came to nine hundred and twenty two dollars. That is a lot of money for one dress, good thing we didn't need a second one.
