Caroline Forbes

My name's Caroline Forbes. I'm a senior in high school. I'm captain of the cheerleading team, I'm 18, and I'm a vampire. I know crazy right? I never believed vampires were real and then they showed up in my town one day. I guess you could say my life's pretty good right now. My family may be really messy but the rest of my life is incredible. I'm dating Tyler Lockwood. Who would have ever thought a vampire and werewolf would be together? My best friends are Elena Gilbert and Bonnie Bennett. Believe it or not, even though I'm a vampire I've never actually killed anyone. Anyway enough about me. It's time to get back to reality. My phone dings signaling I got a text. (T- Tyler, C- Caroline)

T- Hey babe want to meet up for lunch?

C- You know me too well.. Of course, I would.

T- Great. Meet me at the Grill in 5.

C- See you soon😘

T- ......😐

I furrow my eyebrows at his last text and then shrug as I put my phone in my bag. I head out to my car and drop my keys as I'm about to unlock the door. As I look up I swear I see him standing across the street but when a car goes by and he's not there anymore I just brush it off as my mind playing tricks on me. He wouldn't come back after I told him not to would he? I push away my thoughts as I arrive at the Grill and step out of my car into the bright sunlight.

"Hey," Tyler says when I spot him at a booth.

"Hey, how have you been?" I say pecking him on the lips before we sit down.

"Good. Sorry, I haven't had a whole lot of time to hang out," he says when the waitress brings us our menus. She smiles shyly at Tyler and he winks at her. I pretend not to notice as I open my menu.

"So I'll have the chicken wrap with extra ranch packets," I say handing her my menu.

"And I'll have the double cheeseburger with a side of fries," he says handing her his menu and smirks when their hands brush. She blushes a deep red and walks away to give the cook our order. I roll my eyes and look out the window at City Square to see a figure sitting on a bench in a trenchcoat. I squint my eyes to see the person better but they're gone. I shake my head at all the thoughts running through it. I look up to see the waitress setting our plates on the table. When Tyler thinks I'm not looking he slips the waitress a little slip of paper and I slam my fist on the table.

"That is the last straw," I say ripping the paper out of her hand. I open it:

Call me ;)
494-594-4954

"Are you serious Tyler?" I ask shoving the paper in his face.

"What?" he asks putting his hands up in surrender.

"Flirting with the waitress and then giving her your number for a booty call later?" I ask standing up. "I can't deal with this. I think we need a break."

"A break? Are you serious Caroline?" he asks and grabs my wrist to stop me from leaving.

"Yes, I'm serious Tyler. Now let go of me," I say ripping my arm from his grip. I run out to my car, tears threatening to spill before I get in my car slamming the door. I sit there gasping for air before I slam my fists against the steering wheel repeatedly while tears stream down my face.

Someone taps on the window pulling me out of my haze and I jump back in surprise. I look up to see the one and only Elijah Mikaelson. I roll down my window as I wipe away my tears.

"Ms. Forbes are you alright?" he asks with a concern-laced voice.

"I'm fine Elijah," I lie giving him a fake smile.

"You don't seem fine," he says gesturing to the fresh tears streaming down my face. "What happened?"

"I said I'm fine," I lie again rolling my window back up and I pull out of the parking lot of the Grill. As soon as I arrive at my house I quickly wipe away the tears and will myself to stop crying. I get out of the car and walk up to the door. As I'm going to unlock the door I drop my keys. I sigh in frustration and go to pick up my keys but they're gone. Where could they have gone?

"I think you dropped these love," a voice says pulling me out of my thoughts. What is he doing here? A million thoughts run through my head as I turn around.

"What are you doing back in Mystic Falls?" I ask looking at him in disbelief.

"Hello to you to Caroline," he says holding out my keys.

"I told you not to come back Klaus," I say ripping my keys out of his hand.

"I'm sorry but I had to," he says as I unlock my front door.

"What's your BIG reason to come back," I say rolling my eyes.

"Business in Mystic Falls," he says stuffing his hands in his pockets as a tear slips down my face. "Why are you crying?"

"I'm fine," I lie walking inside and he follows. "Just waltz right in."

"I can tell your lying Caroline," he says as he follows me to my room.

"I'M NOT FINE OK," I yell throwing my hands in the air.

"Why?" he asks and I throw myself on the bed.

"Tyler," I say curling into a ball.

"What did he do?" he asks with a serious voice.

"He was flirting with the waitress and then gave her his number for a booty call later," I say standing up. "So I told him we needed a break."

"I'm going to kill him," he says walking toward the door.

"No Klaus please don't," I say grabbing his arm.

"But he hurt you," he says and his walls come crumbling down.

"That doesn't mean I want him to die," I say and drag him to the kitchen. "Drink with me."

"You actually want to spend time," he says sitting down. "With me."

"Well I need a drinking buddy," I say grabbing a bottle of bourbon and two glasses. "And right now you're the only one I've got."

"Alright," he says taking the glass of bourbon I hold out to him. " Are we just going to drink. Or are we going to talk as well?"

"It depends on how drunk I am," I say downing my bourbon.

I stumble over to the radio and put on some music.

"Dance with me," I say holding out my hand to Klaus.

"I don't think you can even dance love," he says grabbing my hand. "You're too drunk. Come on time for bed."

"But I don't want to go to bed," I pout getting on the table. "I want to dance."

I start dancing on the table and trip and fall into Klaus' arms.

"Yep time for bed," he says switching off the radio. He leads me to my room. He makes me get in the bed and takes off my shoes. He sets the covers over me and proceeds to walk away. I grab his wrist and he turns to me.

"Stay," I say with pleading eyes. He nods his head as he strips down to his boxers and slides into bed next to me. I scoot closer to him and he puts his arm around me holding me close.

"Thank you," I whisper.

"Goodnight love," he says kissing my forehead and I let sleep overtake me.
