Caroline Forbes

All I see is white when I wake up. I slowly stretch my arms as my eyes adjust to the brightness of the room. I whimper in pain from the stiffness of my limbs and the door opens slowly, revealing Bonnie.

"You're finally awake." She beams as I nod my head in confirmation. "Am I dead?"

"Not entirely. Your life force is connected to Klaus. As long as he's alive so are you." I nod as I take it in and Bonnie sets her hand on my arm. "Do you want to see him?"

"Does he know? That I'm not entirely dead I mean." Bonnie shakes her head and I sigh. "Explain it to him and then I'll see him."

She nods and stands up off of the bed. "Will you see Elena then? I've already explained it to her."

"Of course." She smiles then and disappears before Elena takes her place.

"Care!" Elena wraps me in a hug so tight that if I were human I would probably be dead. "I thought you were dead."

"Bonnie thought quickly." She laughs in response, tears of joy running down her face. "You're going to be okay without me for a little while. At least until Bonnie finds a way to bring me back." I brush the tears from her face as she nods.

"I'll still miss you." I nod knowingly and she embraces me once more before disappearing. I sigh, staring at the space before crawling under the covers and falling into a deep sleep.

Bonnie Bennett

"Miss Bennett." Elijah answers the door after my third knock.

"I need to speak to Klaus." He sighs walking out and closing the door behind him.

"I'm afraid Niklaus is not in the mood for visitors." I tap my foot in frustration as I hear glass shattering inside of the house.

"It's about Caroline." The door swings open to reveal a tear-stained face belonging to Klaus Mikaelson.

"What about her?" He grips my arms tightly, there would probably be bruises later.

"She's not dead." He lets go of my arms and I run them, saying an incantation under my breath to heal the bruises.

"What are you talking about?" He steps back and folds his arms over his chest, tapping his foot impatiently.

"When Esther 'killed' her I tied her life force to yours and sent her spirit to an alternate dimension ensuring her safety." He nods as he takes in the information and then looks up at me.

"I want to see her." I nod and he leads me into the living room. I sit down on the couch as he sits next to me.

"This won't take long." I take his hand and chant a few words, he slumps back onto the couch.

Niklaus Mikaelson

I appear in a quaint living room decorated in different shades of blue. I wander the house until I find her in the bedroom, fast asleep. She looks like an angel, the sunlight shining on her, illuminating her skin. As if she senses me in the room her deep blue eyes open and she turns to me.

"Klaus." She sits up and the blanket pools around her. She pats the spot next to her and I slip my shoes off before sliding under the covers next to her. She sets her head on my chest and I grab her waist, pulling her closer. "I missed you." She looks up as a tear slips down my face. "Hey. Hey, you're going to be okay." She grabs my face, cupping my cheeks with her hands as I shake my head. "Yes, you are. You need to be because as long as your alive so am I. Until Bonnie finds a way to bring me back."

"I can't live without you." I push her away and throw the blankets off of me as I get off of the bed, I walk over to the dresser and lean my hands on it.

"You need to." She slides off of the bed and walks over, wrapping her arms around my waist, and leans her forehead on my back. "Have hope that Bonnie will find a way to bring me back."

"What if she can't?" She unwraps her arms and grabs my arm, turning me towards her, and presses her lips to mine in a desperate but passionate kiss.

"If she can't then you have to live without me, Klaus. You have to let me go because I can't sit in this dimension forever, alone most of the time." My face falls when she says that because I don't want to believe it. I press a kiss to her forehead and wrap her into a bone-shattering hug.

"I love you." I tip her chin up and press my lips to hers and she repeats those three words under her breath after we part. "I will find a way to bring you back." She nods as I back away from her, our hands still linked with tears running down my face.

"I love you Klaus Mikaelson, always and forever." I nod as our hands unlink and I'm brought back to the real world.

"Are you okay?" Bonnie goes to put her hand on mine but changes her mind and sets it back on her lap.

"I'm fine." I hastily wipe the tears away and storm upstairs.

Caroline Forbes

"Hey." Bonnie appears in front of me, concern in her eyes.

"What happened?"

"He's upset because there might be a chance that we can't find a way to bring me back." Her shoulders slump at my sentence.

"We will get you back Care." She squeezes my arm before leaving me alone again.

Katherine Pierce

"Caroline is dead."

"Good. Does Klaus know you're still alive?"

"No my son thinks I'm still dead."

"Good now explain to me Esther why you've decided to help me."

"I want my children dead as much as you do Katerina."

"Except Elijah. Spare his life."

"What's so special about him? He's a monster just like the rest of them."

"He may be a monster but I'm asking you to spare his life in exchange for my help."

"You love him."

"I do. I cannot explain it but I do."

"Then I will spare it because he is nobler than the others."

"Thank you and Esther?"

"Yes, child?"

"Make Klaus' death very painful."

"I will." The phone line goes dead and I stuff my phone in my purse.

"Katherine?" Veronica walks in with a paper in hand.

"Yes?"

"A letter."

"Thank you." I take it from her hands and begin reading. "Damn it!"
