Chapter 22 - He's Not Good For Her

Nathan's POV ||

I was getting Starbucks when someone approached me.

'Er, Nathan?' He asked.

'Yeah?'

'I'm Kyle - friend's with Hayley' he said as we sat down at the same table.

We ended up talking for quite awhile, and we got along.

'I know you love her' he said.

'Yeah' I mumbled.

'Just don't give up on her, mate. I know you're a decent guy. She knows that too. She's just blinded by Ryder. And I've seen him before, he isn't good for her. They don't fit together. I know there's something off about this guy'

Just then, Hayley walked it.

Hayley's POV ||

I walked into Starbucks to see Nathan and Kyle sat together.

Erm? Is there something I don't know about?

'Hey' Kyle said as I walked to them.

'Hi, Hayles' Nathan smiled.

'What.. Are you two doing together?'

'We bumped into each other' Kyle said.

'And we started talking, and we actually get along quite well' Nathan continued.

'I see...' I said curiously.

'Well, I've gotta go now. Text me later?' Kyle said as he got up.

'Yeah sure' I said.

'Pfft, he was talking to me' Nathan laughed.

'So, how's things with Ryder?' Nathan asked.

'Erm, quite good actually. I really like him'

Nathan smiled at my response.

Nathan noticed my smile suddenly fade away.

'What's wrong?' He asked in concern.

I had gotten a text, from Ryder.

'I know you're with him. Why the hell are you with him? I trusted you Hayley. You're with me. Not him. What? Do ya wanna break up or something?!'

'It's Ryder. He knows I'm with you' I mumbled.

'What the fuck?! How the fuck does he know?!' He was getting tensed up.

'Nathan...'

It wasn't even seconds before tears started rolling down my face.

'Hayley, don't. It's alright, okay? I'm here for you' he brought me into a hug.

'I-it's just, every time things get better.. Something just ruins it. He makes sure of it' I said while hugging him tighter.

'Hayley..'

'I know, Nathan. I know I can do better or he's not good for me. But I need to try and fix things' I cut him off.

I really need to fix things.. But I can't not be friends with Nathan. He's my everything.
