" Wake up you lazy cow! "

Kadta just growled in response, not moving.

" Get up and get dressed you ungrateful child! Maybe you can have breakfast! " her mother screeched.

" Shut the hell up woman! " Kadta snarled, then turned her head over to glare with one eye open. Silencing her mother from speaking as the two glared in hatred for one another.

The anger in the woman's eyes was quickly replaced by disgust, she turned walked out the door slamming it shut.

" Darn it...." Kadta sighed. Trying to cling on to her dream, before it slipped away.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
" Hey! Stop, you can't fight them. You're not strong enough!" A boy with lavender hair called out behind me," We're all not strong enough for this!"
I didn't listen. I didn't stop. I walked away from him, not looking back I muttered " Fool...", before taking off toward the sky.
" I'm not weak! I will surpass that damn fool Ka- "
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kadta was vexed that her mother disrupted the dream. It had been a series of strange dreams and every time it got to the good part, something would abruptly stop it. Today it was her monster of a mother.

The bed creaked with relief as she shuffled over the blinds, nearly ripping them off in the process. She had remarkable strength even as a child and living in this day and age, you needed to be string to survive. Since " The Attack " no one was kind to each other anymore. People lived in fear and lost the will to protect those they should care for. Only out to save their own skins; people lived in poverty as most of the cities were still under reconstruction.

Kadta heard of a time a time when all was well. Earth was at peace and any harm to the world was always prevented. Thanks to a group of fighters, the protectors of Earth. That had always warded off the evil that came.

When she was little, no more than four. She would pray for the return of the lost heroes. She believed every bit of the story. The kids had taunted her and beat her for child idols.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
" Were's your great heroes now freak!
" No one will help you brat! "
Kadta just sucked it up , daring not to show any sign of crying. She wouldn't give them what they wanted.
" You lie! They'll come back and I'll get them to beat you up! "she snapped. In response Kadta was round house kicked in the side. Leaving her gasping on the ground. She quickly got up and attacked the bullies with a fury no four year old should possess.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kadta shook her head, trying to block out the memory.

She walked over to the closet smiling to herself. Those kids never dud mess with her again and since then she has built a terrifying reputation. She pulled out a pair of ripped jeans, a black tank top that reads ' I'm not anti-social. I just hate you.' and a large dark grey hoodie. It was her father's (4x) grand fathers' as a kid. Back when there were still World Martial Arts tournament's, it was his prized procession, he had been wearing it when he met Son Goku!.
It was given to her when she learned about the protectors. Her father had laugh when she put it on. A large jacket on a toddler was a hilarious sight to behold.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
" You'll grow into it later on." he teased.
Kadta looked up at her father, or tried to. The hoodie kept covering her eyes.
" Can I be like him Daddy? "
" Hmmm... well I don't know, it's up to you to be who you want to be."
Kadta furrowed her eyebrows, thinking to herself. " Weren't there others, other protectors? "
" Yes."
" What are they like? Maybe I'm not the main protector! "
" What do you mean sweetie?" Her fathers golden eyes gazed at the child.
" Hey! I don't like being called that." She looked up at him and giggled. But then turned serious. " This Son Goku... he seems to trusting and always happy. I don't trust anyone but you. And no one likes me, I'm not happy." Letting a single tear trail down her face. Her father wiped away the tear and cupped her face. She looked up.
He smiled, a warm, full of light kind of smile . " I lov- "
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

" NO! That was years ago! I DON'T care." Kadta's voice broke at the last word. She punched the drywall, leaving a good size hole. Not feeling the pain, but letting the pain of her grief subside. It was two years after the gift that he left her to go to otherworld. She glanced at the fading wording. That had once said " World Champion Martial Arts ".
