Chapter 33

I'm sitting in my office and I'm trying to grasp the idea that Damien might be the one that had killed my daughter and is trying to kill us. Before the meeting with my parents I had already planned a fashion show with him, and if I cancel that will add suspicion to it.

I decide to call Ruby to my office so I can tell her to be on the look out. She sits down and gave me a weird look. "Ruby I know you might be leaving soon because of the baby but you need to know what's going on." She gives me a concerned look. "What is it?" I sigh.

"I talked to my parents last night." She gasps. "About the threat?" I nod. "They think it's Damien the one that killed Aqua and it's trying to kill the rest of my family." She gasps. "Dhark?" I nod. "But He seems such a nice and peaceful man." I sigh. "That's what I thought too but it seems that his parents died because of an accident my parents caused so he's avenging his parents death." She gasps.

"I just don't see it." I nod. "Yeah I know." She sighs. "So is Killian going to interrogate him or something." I shake my head. "No we have to pretend like we don't know anything, continue living our lives normally." She nods. "Killian will be investigating his life and what he's done." She nods.

"That's crazy Emma." I nod. "I know it is." I sigh as I lean back. "Why did he have to kill my daughter, she was the least involved in this whole mess." She nods. "She didn't deserve it." I nod as I wiped a tear. "You ok Emma?" I jump a little when I see that it was Damien at the door. I give Ruby a weird look and she tensed up.

"Yeah it's just I was looking at the picture of Aqua and well I miss her because I love her." He half smiles. "She was a beauty." I nod. "Is there anything I can help you with?" He walks up to my desk and hands me some folders. "These are the designs for the show, I just need your approval by tomorrow so we can start designing them." I nod.

"I will give them back to you before the day ends." He smiles. "Awesome." I nod. He starts to walk out then he turns back. "I'm sure she loves you too." He walks out and I give Ruby a surprised look. She gets up and closes the door. "What did he mean I'm sure she loves you too." I gasp. "He didn't talk about her in past tense, she might be alive." Ruby sighs.

"Emma you found her body." I sigh. "That's true." She half smiles. "Hang in there best friend and thanks for the heads up." I nod. "Talk to you tomorrow." She nods and walks out. I open the folder with the designs and I start checking them. I sign off the ones I approved and left the ones I didn't approve blank.

As I'm staring at one design I hear a knock on the door. I look up and it's Claire. "Mrs. Jones." I smile. "It's Emma, Claire." She smiles and nods. "Can I come in?" I nod. "Of course, come and take a seat." She smiles and nods. "I'm here just to ask you some questions about the history of Aqua." I nod. "What do you mean?"

"I have found some remodeling on one of her legs that suggests that she broke her femur when she was about 2." I shake my head. "Aqua never broke a single bone, just sprained her left wrist when she fell down the stairs but that's it." She nods. "Hmmm, that is very interesting." I give her a weird look. "What is going on Claire?" She sighs.

"I was just double checking the injuries on the bones and well I wanted to know what was Aqua's history." I nod. "But if the bones suggests that she broke her femur when she was 2, then that means those bones are not Aqua's." She sits there quietly then sighs. "That is a possibility." I smile.

"So my baby is out there?" She sighs. "I really can't talk about the case." I sigh. "Claire I'm the FBI director's wife, I won't say anything." She sighs and nods. "I think so but I need more evidence to prove that the bones I have in my lab are indeed Aqua's." I nod. That's when she gets a call. She answers it then gasps then hangs up.

"Emma, you don't have brittle bone disease right?" I shake my head. "Is that where bones break easily?" She nods. "I don't why?" She nods. "And Killian doesn't have it, I already checked him." I nod. "And Aqua doesn't have it, I remember they checked when they were checking her wrist." She smiles. "I no longer believe the body we found are the remains of Aqua Jones." I smile and tears filled my eyes.

"Why did you come to that conclusion?" She smiles. "The body has evidence of early stages of brittle bones disease." I gasp. "So my daughter is alive?" She nods. "Well according to the bones, it means that the body we found are not her bones." I get up and I hug her.

"Thank you so much, you gave me the little ray of hope I needed to continue on." She smiles. "I'll tell Killian." I nod. "Do it but once you leave the Institute." She nods. "Thanks again for not giving up." She smiles. "I would do anything for you and Killian." I smile as she walks out. I just knew that my daughter is alive.

I go sit back down and I look at her picture. I grabbed the frame and kissed it. Don't worry my love, mom and dad are going to find you and bring you back home.
