Friends Forever?

Chapter 15

One month goes by and Emma and I haven't spoken to each other. And when I tried to tell her about her parents, she ignores me. The only time I spoke to her was for the girls dress fitting for the wedding. Yes, she's still Milah's maid of honor. I keep calling her and nothing. I decide to go out with my FBI colleague Robin, who happens to be one of the groomsmen.

We decided to go out and get a couple of drinks. We get to a sports bar and we start to drink. "So how's it going with Milah and the wedding?" He asks and I put my glass down and sighed. "I kissed Emma." "Whoa? What," he replied. I stayed quiet and kept drinking. "You love her don't you Killian?" I nod. "Of course I love Milah." He chuckles. "I meant Emma."

"I'm engaged to Milah I can't do this, I mean..." "Well did that kiss mean anything?" I sigh. "Emma said it didn't mean anything to her but to me..." I say and sigh again. He pats my back and smiles. "Oh bro you're so screwed well I've always told you when we are on the field to do the right thing but now I think you shouldn't make the right choice and just go after Emma."

I stay quiet and I keep drinking. "I can't do this." He then takes the glass away from me. "Man up and fight for the woman you love, I know she loves you and you love her so screw everyone!" He screams. I nod, "you're right," I say and take out my phone to call her.

Emma's POV
I'm at a cocktail party with Ruby and the rest of our staff from the institute. Today we are actually showing our new summer collection and yes Killian usually accompanies me but I don't want to talk to him so I didn't invite him. I'm talking to Ruby about something and I get a call. I look at Ruby and scoff.

"It's Killian." She sighs. "Oh come on just answer, you've been ignoring him for the longest at least today you can say you're actually busy." I smile. "You're right Ruby." I say with a big smile then answer.

"Yes?"

"Oh my gosh, finally you answer, Hi Emma."

I scoff. "What do you want?"

"Please hear me out, that kiss did mean something to me, I am in love with you Emma and I've been lying to myself for all these years." I stay quiet. "What did he say?" Ruby asks with a curious look on her face. I put the phone down and I scoff.

"My God he's dumb, he said that the kiss meant something to him and that he's in love with me." Ruby is juststanding there shocked. I put the phone back on my ear.

"Killian please you're getting married you don't know what you're saying we are best friends that's why you are confused."

"No Emma, I love you and I'm leaving Milah, I just need to be with you." I scoff.

"No Killian just go home and go with Milah, you don't know what you're saying," I say and I hang up. "Emma are you ok?" Ruby asks and I nod. "I'm fine just I can'tdeal with him," I say as I put my phone in my purse. "But Emma he just said he loves you and that he's leaving Milah, go and get him." I chuckle.

"No I am going to enjoy the revealing of our new collection today and he will not ruin it." Ruby sighs and nods. I smile and we start to walk away and that's when I bump into a couple. "Oh I am so sorry," I say and I look up and they seem familiar. "I'm sorry," I say again and I extend my hand.

"I'm Emma." They both stare at me and the lady extends her hand out towards me."You are so beautiful Emma," the woman says. I stay quiet. "Who are you?" I ask."We are your parents." I gasp. "What?" "Yes honey we are your parents," the man says. I stood there shocked and I started to get flashbacks from when I was little.

I thought they were images my mind had made up. I was still in shock that I didn't even notice that the revealing had started and they had called out my name to go up onstage. "I can't, how, umm why, I thought you two were dead." They both sigh. "No sweetie we are here for you," the woman says. I stood there shocked. Ruby comes to me and grabs my hand. "Emma it's time to go up stage," She says and she pulls me up there.

I'm just standing there quietly and I smile awkwardly. "So where were we?" I say and everyone laughs. I start to talk and I see my parents get closer to the runway. That's when I see Killian walking in. How did he know I was here? I start to explain my collection and then I bow and I get off stage as everyone claps.

I walkover to Ruby. "Ruby get me out of here," I whisper and she gives me a weird look. "Why?" I sigh. "My parents and Killian are here." "What?" She asks as she looks around. "Yes, tell you what take care of everything here and I'm going to your place," I say. She nods and hands me the spare keys.
