Friends Forever?

Chapter 8

After a half hour, Ruby and I put everything on the outside table and everyone goes and sits down. I sit down and everyone starts to eat. About 2 hours pass by and we are still talking and laughing. Killian is just sharing our stories when we were kids and all that, everyone is laughing but Milah doesn't seem too amused.

"I'll be right back," I say as I get up, that's when I see Milah come right behind me and closes the sliding door. "What's your deal?" I turn to her and gave her a baffled look. "Excuse me?" She scoffs. "It's not normal for a man and a woman to live together and not have feelings for each other, before anything happens how many times have you kissed and slept with Killian?" I chuckle.

"I have never kissed or slept with Killian, we are best friends, we've been friends since I was 10, that's all there is and that's all there will ever be." She scoffs. "I don't believe you, I've been his partner for over 8 years and yes about 3 years ago we started dating but with you there's something different, there's a different vibe when he talks about you or how he acts around you." I sigh. "Don't worry Milah he loves you and you don't have to worry about me, we are just roommates."

She scoffs, "you better." She walks away and I walk upstairs and I sit in my room. This sucks it took everything inside me to tell her that. I decide to stay up here because I knew what was coming next. I look through the window and I see that Killian took her to the fire pit and he proposed to her. I see them kiss and hug. It did hurt me, but I was happy that he was happy.

After 20 minutes I went downstairs and I start to pick up plates because everyone went over to the fire pit with their wine glasses. Ruby helped me out and I noticed that they were all getting a little drunk. Milah had told Killian that she had to leave early because of a family emergency. Killian wanted to go but he and the rest of the guests were getting drunk so she said no. I escorted her out and I smiled, "see I told you and congratulations." She smiled and nodded.

I watched as she got in her car and drove away. I walked back inside and Ruby is washing dishes, "thank you so much." She smiles. "I'm sorry again Ruby, that you had to miss the cocktail social." "Oh shush," she says as she splashes water at me. I laugh and smile. That's when I start to dry plates. About 2 hours pass by and she sighs as she looks at Killian's guests, "you might want to go and get taxis for everyone."

I look outside and nod, "I think you're right." I go and call 4 cabs and they came after 15 minutes. I walked outside and told everyone to get into the cabs and tomorrow they can come and pick up their cars since it was 3am.  That's when Killian gets up and scoffs. "Oh Emma, you party pooper can't you see that we are celebrating, why you have to come and ruin everything, come on drink," Killian says and he hands me a glass of wine. I chuckle.

"No thank you, and besides you all have to work in the afternoon so it's best if you guys go and rest now." Everyone nods and they start to get their stuff. Ruby and I escort everyone out to their cabs and paid them then they all left. Killian was sitting down in the couch sleeping. Ruby and I finished cleaning and it was about 4 am. "Time to go," she says as she grabs her purse. "Thank you so much Ruby," I say and she hugs me.

"Will you be ok?" She asks and I look over at Killian and smile. "I'll be fine." She nods. "Love you, see you Monday Emma." I smile and I walk her to the door and watched her as she gets into her car and drives away. I go outside and put water in the fire pit and put the top on. I turn off the back light and close the sliding door and close the curtains. I take off my heels and walk over to Killian.

"Killian, Killian wake up," I say as I start to shake him. "Love go away let me be." I scoff. "Killian you're drunk let's go upstairs, you need to sleep."  He gets up and I put his arm over my shoulder and we walk upstairs. We get to his room and I laid him down on the bed. "Ok good night," I say and he pulls my arm and smiles, "you looked so beautiful today." I chuckle.

"Killian go to sleep you are super drunk, I've never seen you this drunk." He smirks. "What love you find me irresistible this way?" I laugh and shake my head,  as I pulled away. "Good night Killian," I say as I walk away. That's when he gets up and pulls me close to him, "I love you Emma," he says and he starts to kiss me. I try to push him away but he held me tight. I couldn't help but kiss him back, I was in love with him so it didn't take a lot for me to kiss him back.

He wouldn't let go and then we laid down on the bed and he started to kiss my neck then he would come back to my lips. I just loved the way he was just caressing me, I was just lost in the passion, the embrace and the love of his kisses. He pulled all of my clothes off as did I. I felt his hands everywhere and that's when it hit me, I can not sleep with Killian. I push him away and gasp. "You're engaged," I scream out. He smiles.

"My God Emma, you kiss amazing" he says and he falls on his back and goes to sleep. What the hell did I just do? I try to shake him to see if he would wake up and he is out cold. I cover him with the blanket, turn off the lights and close the door. I grabbed my clothes, run to my room and I close the door. I just kissed him I say in my mind. I sat down and I was remembering the passion of those kisses but I knew he was drunk so they didn't mean anything. I change into my pajamas and laid down.

What if he remembers? No he's too drunk, well I'll find out tomorrow well later today when he wakes up. I look at my alarm clock and it read "4:55." I turned my waterfall fountain on and I tried to sleep and forget the stupid mistake I had just made.
