Friends Forever?

Chapter 40

We are in the car as we are on our way back home. I look in the back seat and I see Aqua looking out the window. I can't believe I finally have my baby back in my arms. My little Aqua is finally home. We get to the house and we walk her in. Liam comes running to her and hugs her but there is someone that I don't see and that's Leía.

We walk into the living room and Angela walks out of the kitchen to hug Aqua. Killian stands next to Aqua and I walk over to Angela. "Leía doesn't want to talk to her," Angela says and I sigh. Well it was expected, I mean Aqua did blow her off. I noticed Aqua walked up to Leía as she was on the floor coloring in her coloring book.

Angela says her goodbyes and leaves. "Leía, I am sorry for the way I treated you." I look at Killian and he gasps. "Is she apologizing?" I nod. "I didn't know you were my little sister and I hurt you." Leía ignores her and continues to color. My heart hurt, I guess Aqua mistreating Leía really hurt her.

Aqua looks towards us and we give her a reassuring smile. Aqua gets up and Leía grabs her and hugs her. "Welcome home big sis." Aqua smiles and starts to cry. That's when Liam comes and hugs them, then Killian pulls me towards them and we all hug. I was in tears as well, my family was finally complete.

We let go and that's when Leía smiles. "Mom, Dad, lets have a movie night, Aqua needs to know our traditions around here." I nod and the twins smile and start to prep everything, since it was already late. Killian and I made snacks as Aqua just sat there like she was a visitor.

"Do you want a tour of your house love?" I ask as I walked up to her. She smiles and shakes her head. "I'm good mom." My heart soared, hearing her say mom. "Don't worry, I'm sure that in no time you will make this house your home." She smiles and nods.

We finished and decided to watch The Lion King since Aqua has never seen it. The twins took out their sleeping bags and laid them in front of the couch. They went and brought a blanket for Aqua. They laid the snacks on the carpet as Killian and I sat down in front of the couch as well.

Aqua sat next to me and covered herself with the blanket. The movie started and she was so into it. She laughed she cried, she smiled and I could tell she had a grand time with us. When it ended the twins had fallen asleep and Killian took them to their room.

Aqua helped put all the plates and bowls in the sink as I folded the blankets and sleeping bags. "This was fun mom," she said with a big smile on her face. "My love we do this all the time, so get used to it, it's our family time." She smiles. "Aqua do you want to see you're old room?"

We look up and see Killian calling out to her. Aqua nods as we make our way to her room. We opened and we left it just as she had when she was little. She walked in and saw all the little princess stuff and dolls. "This room, I had dreamt of it so many times." My heart hurt.

"I thought it was just a dream but it was real, my room when I was a little girl." I grabbed Killian's hand and he hugged me from the side. "This was your room princess," Killian says and Aqua nods. She grabs a princess doll and hugs it. "Damien took this away from me, and made me almost kill you..." Then She bursted our crying.

I ran to her and hugged her. "My baby you will never be ripped away from this or us." She nods and Killian hugs her as well. "You are our baby, Aqua, and you will never leave our side." She caresses his arm and Killian kisses her head.

She lets go and smiles. "Thank you for never giving up on me." Killian and I both smile. "And we will never give up on you," I say and Killian nods. "For now you can sleep here, then later we will change it to whatever you like because I know this is little girl stuff." She laughs and nods.

"None of that matters when I know that I am home." I smiled. She got into bed and we tucked her. "Good night," Killian and I both say as we stood at the doorway. She smiles. "Good night." We turn off the lights and close the door. Killian goes off to the room as I check on the twins. They were both out and tucked into bed.

I walk into the room and I see Killian sitting on the bed. I go and hug him from behind. He smiles and kisses my arms. "What's on your mind Killian?" He turns around and smiles. "Nothing I'm just happy knowing our little one is home and that we will finally be together again." I smile and nod.

"That's right," he says then sighs. "What else is bugging you Killian?" He shakes his head. "Nothing." I give him a glare. He sighs. "It just bugs me that Aqua spent her days thinking she was an orphan and spent her childhood unhappy thinking she was abandoned..." I stop him and caress his cheek.

"Yes even though Aqua did go through that, there's a way we can change that." He gives me confused look. "How?" I smile. "Well we can't change the past per say but we can give her good memories and make the years that we do have with her worthwhile." He smiles. "You're right my love." I smile.

"And She will never feel like an orphan again." He nods. "Well looking back at being an orphan, there was some good things it did bring me." I gave him a confused look. "What?" He smiles and pulls me in. "It brought me my life long best friend which happens to be the love of my life and she gave me the best gift, to be the father of three beautiful children." I smile super big.

"We did good Emma." I smile. "Yes we did." He smiles. "Those two orphan children made a home out of their love and will spend the rest of their days together." I smile and hugged him.

"Promise?"

"Aye."
