Chapter 32

The next day

The children are fast asleep in their room as Killian and I are waiting for my parents to come. After finding out Aqua is dead it was only right to investigate the threat that parents said was out there. I'm sitting there and I'm nervous as can be. Killian grabs my hand and gives me a reassuring smile. I calm down and smile.

"Don't worry love we will investigate and catch this son of a..." That's when the doorbell rings. He sighs. "You know what I mean." I nod and smile. He gets up and gets the door. Both my parents walk in and they try to greet me but I pulled away. They both sigh and sit down. "Thank you for coming," Killian says as he sits down next to me.

"Where are the kids?" "They're sleeping, they don't need to know you two are here." Killian sighs. "Love...." I snap. "What did you two do to get your granddaughter killed?" My parents sigh. "Are you familiar with Dhark industries?" I looked at Killian and he shook his head.

"Well that's the reason why we were running away that day when we had the accident." I gasp. "The lawyers from there had falsely accused us and said we were the reasons why the owners died." I gasped. "What happened?" "Howard and Stella Dhark were our associates, they were the best engineers from California and we were the best scientists from there as well." I nod.

"Long story short, our invention exploded killing both of them and they blamed us." I gasp as I looked at my dad sigh. "Our friend warned us about the threat and we decided to run away, sadly it was the day of your birthday." I gasp. "We promised once we arrived to Canada we were going to celebrate." My eyes started to water.

"Those people managed to find us and well I lost control of the car and well you remember the rest." I closed my eyes as I remembered being all bloody and scared. "We tried looking for you sweetie, but you were gone." I nod. "I'm sorry mom and dad, I didn't know you had gone through that." They nod.

"It's Ok it's just that now we heard that their son is out to get us and you." I gasp. "Who is their son?" "Damien Dhark." I gasp. "Damien?" They nod. "My partner from the Institute?" They give me a weird look. "He works with you?" I nod. "So you're saying he killed Aqua?" They nod. "That's the only explanation." I shake my head.

"I knew Damien after Aqua disappeared, he couldn't have done it." They sigh. "Emma he may seem nice but trust me he is out to get you, he wants to kill us and he will do it through you and your family." Killian shakes his head and gets up. He takes out his phone.

"Yes I need background information on Damien Dhark, and of Dhark industries, once you have it send it to my phone ASAP." I get up as he hangs up. "Killian we are not even sure it's the truth." He scoffs. "Love Your parents just gave us a possible suspect, I will look into it and to be honest I never really liked him." I sigh. "Damien has been nothing but nice to me."

He nods. "Exactly, that's his play he wants to get close to you and once he's alone he can kill you." I gasp. "Killian." He snaps. "No Emma, our daughter is dead and if Damien killed him he will pay." "My big sister is dead." We all turn around and I see Leía standing there holding her little mermaid.

Killian grabs her and brings her over to the table. He sits her down and she looks at me. "Yes Leía, your big sister is dead." She gives me a sad look. "She's never coming home?" I shake my head. She starts to cry as she hugs her little mermaid doll real tight. That's when she turns around and looks at my parents.

"Mommy, daddy who are they?" I sigh as I look at Killian. "Love she deserves to have what we didn't." I nod. "Sweetie, they are grandma and grandpa." She gasps. "Go on and hug them." She nods as she walks up to them and hugs them. "You want to see my new toys?" "Leia...." They smile. "We would love to," my mother said as Leía grabbed both their hands and took them to the living room.

I look at Killian and he nods. "Emma once I get the information on Damien, I don't want you to be alone with him." I nod. "If he killed our daughter, I will make sure he pays." I nod. "Love what if this is all..." "Emma you will not argue with me on this, I don't want you near that man, and that's final." I nod.

"I'm sorry Killian..." He sighs. "I'm sorry love, I just, if anything happens to you or our twins, I will die." I smile. "We need to work together on this Love." I nod. "Together we will make sure Damien pays." I nod and smile.
