I splashed Tarron with a wave of water
He flinched happily
Only to be hit again by Corey
I acted defensive and splashed Corey
That was when Elton came back
With a water cannon
He shot a line of water at everyone at once
Filling the air with happy screams as we ran away
Tarron and I trying to catch our breath
Elton went to jump in
But slipped last second
Falling into the water
Everyone laughed
Even Elton when he popped back up
I looked over at Tarron
He looked at me
I've never seen Tarron smile like that
That was when I knew
We finally had an outlet
We finally had hope
At last
We had a family
But knowing the time
We had to go back to our fake on
My smile faded
Tarron caught on quickly
'Do we have to?' He signed to me
'Yeah, sadly.' I said back
Tarron just nodded
Tarron and I started to get out of the pool
Grabbing our towels and drying off
And putting on our sandals
"Hey guys!" I grabbed their attention
They all looked at us
"Tarron and I are gonna head home now." I mentioned
"Alright." I heard someone say
"See ya!"
"It was nice meeting you!"
"See ya later!"
"We should hang out again!"
A mix of reactions
All good
I liked that
"Here, let me help you over the fence." Colby said
I just nodded
Watching him get out of the pool
I turned to Tarron
'Colby's walking us.' I told him
Since I hadn't signed any of that
Tarron just nodded in understandment
We walked with Colby to the same placement of the chair
Still there
Tarron got on first
He needed help from Colby
The chair wasn't sturdy
I watched Tarron get over
It was my turn
Before I got on I turned to Colby
"Thank you." I said
He smiled
"Anytime."
I smiled
"You should come over again." He mentioned
"I don't know, I'm still in school. I've got homework." I mentioned
He still smiled
"You can do both."
We both smiled
Colby helped me over the fence
As I entered my own home
I sighed
Realizing that I had changed my life as I knew it
I'm not good at change
