8 - One Step

Tarron and I walked outside

Both of us in our swim trunks

Holding a single towel

And wearing our worn down sandles

Today was warmer

I couldn't explain the weather

It's weird

The transition between Summer and Fall is always crazy

Bipolar

Like me

We stopped at the fence

I turned over to Tarron

'Can you get a chair, I'll call for Colby.' I signed to Tarron

'Why do we need a chair?' Tarron asked

'So we can get over.' I explained

'Can't we go around?' Tarron asked

'You know we can't, and you know why.' I signed

Tarron nodded in understandment as he went to get a chair

I turned back to the fence

"CJ!" I yelled

Immediantly his head popped over

"God, don't yell like that. I thought you were being murdered." He laughed

If only...

"Are we still on for swimming?" I asked

Tarron finally came over with the chair

'Thank you.' I signed

"Yeah, sure." Colby smiled, "What's the chair for?"

"So we can get over." I started to sign and talk what I said and signed what Colby said

This way Tarron would understand

"You don't wanna come through the doors?" Colby asked

"No thanks." I shook my head

"Alright, well let me grab a chair for the other side." He chuckled

He disappeared

I heard the moving of something

I looked over at Tarron

He was so happy

I've never seen him so happy

Finally the moving stopped

I heard Colby yell

"Come on over!" He yelled

I had Tarron stand on the chair first

He climbed over swiftly

He didn't need any help

I was next

I was swift as well

I refused any help

Like always

Once we were over Colby moved the chair back

Standing beside us

Their backyard was different from ours

I could see it from the roof

But here looked different

Their grass was so green

Happy

There was a bar outside

And a ball pit?

Why was there a small ball pit?

There was diving platform by the pool

And a hot tub

How did they afford this?

I chuckled

"Stay right here, I'm gonna get everyone else." Colby said

I just now noticed he was shirtless

Black and red swimtrunks on

Tarron tapped my shoulder

'Who did you say lived here?' He signed

'Uh, Colby, Sam, Corey, Elton, and the dog, Circa.' I signed back

Tarron nodded

Although I only named four people

And one animal

Out came six people

And two animals

Colby came out first

The rest following

They were all smiling

I liked it when they smiled

They stopped before us

Tarron waved hello

"Hi." I said

"Hi." They all said back

Chuckling

There was actually a girl there

I assumed she was dating one of them

Or maybe a sister?

"Well, you know me." Colby chuckled, "And you know Sam and Corey, but I'm gonna go through everyone so Tarron knows them." Colby said

I signed all of this to Tarron

'Ok.' Tarron signed

"Ok." I said

"Alright," Colby clapped his hands together, "Corey, his girlfriend Devyn, Sam, Elton, his dog Circa, Aaron, and his dog Buddy."

Colby went down the line

Whenever someone was mentioned they waved a small greeting

Or did a small gesture

Tarron chuckled

"I'm gonna try to remember all these names but fail." I talked out loud what Tarron was signing

Everyone laughed

It made me feel warm inside

"Don't worry about it." Devyn said

"Yeah, I forgot my name all the time too." Aaron said

Aften signing this to Tarron he laughed

I loved it when he laughed

"Welp, no time to waste. Let's get started!" Colby clapped his hand together

He ran all the way to the pool

Doing a cannon ball into it

Making a large splash

We all laughed at this

And started walking over

Tarron and I last

Me behind him

Hiding in this crowd of people

I'm good at hiding
