Ryland's POV
I buttoned the rest of my white button up, rolling up the sleeves properly. I slipped on my formal beige shoes, and then running my hand through my hair to give it more volume. Shane then slipped out the bathroom, a pale blue button up that complimented his chest with a dark blue tie, dark blue formal skinny pants, and white vans.
"Adorable." I cheered, blowing his a kiss as he opened up his hand to catch the kiss. "As always."
"Why thank you, my lovely future husband." He giggled, grabbing my hand into his and spun me around.
I smiled up at him, and decided to kiss his nose. I grabbed the little drawstring backpack that had some extra clothes for the both of us just in case we wanted to change out of formal wear after we ate. Shane grabbed my hand and guided me out the apartment door, and down the stairs.
He opened up the door for me, and closed it once I was in. He got in himself, starting the engine, and then driving off to the restaurant we had decided on. We arrived with ten minutes to spare on our reservation. Shane laced our hands together as we walked into the elegant restaurant, and the waiter smiled as we entered.
She sat us down in a round booth and there was a chandelier directly above us. She handed us our menu's but we just told her to just let it be chef's choice. She then set down two glasses of champagne and left us to be. Shane and I both clinked our glass together and we both took a sip before smiling at one another.
Shortly, the food came and Shane seemed to really enjoy his meal. We decided to just order one slice of cheesecake as we both would just share it. When we finally finished up, we tipped our waiter and paid off our cheek. I knew where we were going next so I was the one to drive this time. I then parked the car, resulting in Shane to look up from his phone.
The land was flat expect for the tall hill, and the little area had lights surrounded and the area had its own pond. Although, that wasn't most people's favorite part, for the favorite part was the area had its forest of flowers. The flowers were the hero of it all, and complimented the land in full.
I couldn't help but pick a whole bunch of multi-colored flowers. Shane was more into climbing the hill and he instantly laid down to look up at the covered sky of stars. He was in his own world as I made him and I a flower crown. Once done, I placed mine on my head and I tapped on his shoulder and he instantly sat up to look at me.
"I now pronounce you the king of my heart." I smiled, placing the crown onto his head. "You may now kiss the groom."
I puckered my lips out for him, as I heard him giggle but he came closer to me. He cupped my cheek with one hand and wrapped his arm around my waist to keep me close as our lips met. I snaked my hands up to his neck and wrapped them around. Shane lifted me up just a bit to place me onto his lap.
We pulled away slowly, our lips still brushing up against one another. Shane then lifted me up and grabbed my hand, as we then stood up and walked down the hill. He lead me into the forest of flowers and we stood in the center so the pond was in sight of our eyes. Shane smiled, and took out his phone, playing soft classical music.
"Let's dance hubby." He grinned, pulling me closely into him.
He wrapped one arm around me and the other hand held my hand up in the air. I let my other hand get place on his shoulder, and I let my head fall onto his shoulder. He leaned his head down against mine and he hummed the song softly into my ear. My heart grew and warmed up as we continued until he then pulled me towards the pond.
He started to take off his shoes and socks, along with rolling up his jeans as I did the same, not really knowing what he were about to do next. He then stepped into the pond and I smiled as I followed him. His phone was placed on a rock and the music could still be heard so it made the mood more happy. Shane placed his crown firmly down onto his head so it wouldn't fall, as it was slowly falling backwards.
He then kicked water in my direction and I screeched at the water hitting my clothes. I knew we should have change out of formal wear, but oh well. Shane laughed as I then kicked water back at him. He then ran over to me and scooped me up, cradling me into his arms and spinning me around. I giggled as I held onto my crown and Shane stopped and placed me down. I looked down and I smiled at the sight of Shane's ring on his finger.
"I can't explain how much I love you, Shane." I whispered, taking his hand into mine.
"There is no explanation for love, Ry." He grinned, placing a quick kiss onto my lips. "But that's the good thing about love. You can feel it and it can be so good that there are no words to describe it."
"Don't be so cliche with me." I joked, and I slightly splashed him with water.
"Don't act like you didn't like it." He sassed, splashing water back at me.
I giggled as we walked to dryer land and laid down on a bed of flowers. We stared at the stars and let the music coming from Shane's music overtake our ears. Shane then sat up and pulled me up along with him. His eyes glistened as the light was shining right upon him, making his beauty stand out even more.
"Promise me something, Ry." He said, sounding nothing but serious.
"Of course, Shane. What is it?" I asked, a bit worried on what Shane wanted me to promise.
"Promise me, you'll never let me forget this day. I've never been more happier than today and I want to remember it being with you." He spoke, as he held our hands together.
"Of course, Shane. I promise." I assured him. "But promise me something...."
"Anything."
"Promise to never forget how much I love you."
"I promise, pinky swear."
He stuck out his pinky for me as I gladly laced it together with mine. Shane smiled once more at me, and he placed his lips onto mine. I smiled into the kiss as Shane did too.
Little did the both of us know,
In just a span of a couple of hours...
Promises could be broken.
