chapter three

Ryland's POV

Freshman Year

Ryland- 14 I Shane- 14

Shane sat on my bed and stared down at his textbook. He was one of those kids that studied hardcore the night before an exam. Since he was in all accelerated class, his exams were way harder than mine. He rapidly flipped through the pages as I laughed at him.

"This isn't funny, Ry" He said, still staring at his textbook. "If I fail this stupid science test, my parents will kill me and force me to come home everyday right after school."

"And what's so bad about that, Shaney?" I asked him.

"I won't get to hang out with you all week, or do you want that Adams?" He sassed me with a laugh.

"No, but maybe you should have studied instead of sitting here and talking to that Elle girl" I sassed back at him. 

"Oh shut up, you're just jealous that I'm finding me someone to call my baby" Shane joked.

He was correct in way. I wasn't looking for just anyone to call my baby. I wanted to be Shane's baby and I wanted him to be my baby. I was also jealous of Elle because she already had Shane's heart. His heart was something I've always wanted for a year now while she got it in only a few weeks. 

"Me? Jealous of Elle? Oh please, she's not that great." I said, rolling my eyes. 

"Seriously? Have you seen her? She's so stunning, and she's just so perfect. I can't believe I got to meet her and that she's actually into me" Shane said, pulling out his phone and showing me pictures of her. 

I wish he would say the same about me that he says about her. His eyes and heart are so blind not to see my love for him. He then pushed his textbook aside and walked over to me. He grabbed my hand and pulled me down the stairs, and then to the outside world. We walked for a couple of minutes before I finally asked where we were going.

"The CVS" He answered instantly. 

"Um, why?" I asked him.

"First, we are getting movies from the red-box and then we are getting food from inside" He answered me with a smile.

"With what money?" I asked him, sounding a bit too smart.

Shane rolled his eyes before pulling out a card from his pocket. I took a closer look at it and it was a legit credit card. It had his father's name on it though which either tells me he stole it from his father before leaving somehow or his father had given it to him. 

"Where did you get this?" I asked him.

"You ask too many questions, and it's my father's. He gave me a card to use only for emergencies and trust me this is an emergency" Shane said with a cheeky smile. 

We walked for a couple of more minutes before arriving at the CVS. Shane let me pick out the movies while he went inside and got some snacks for us. I picked out really weird movies, but I knew he would watch them for my sake and since I was his guest. 

He came back out with a bag and handed me the card to pay for the movies. We then walked back home in a comfortable silence. When we arrived home, I opened the door for him and closed it once he was through. He set the bag on the counter and check what movies I had gotten.

"Girls Trip? Are you kidding me?" He asked, trying to hold in laugh.

"I've seen the trailer too many times so I might as well watch the damn movie" I said, yanking the DVD out of his hand and running upstairs to his room.

I placed the DVD in his little player. I skimmed through all of the trailers for other movies and stopped when it came to the play menu. I changed into some more comfortable clothes and sat down on the bed. 

Shane then came into the room with two seven-ups and a box of cheez-it. He went to his closet and came back out with a black shirt on and some gray joggers. He jumped onto the bed and handed me my seven-up and placed the box of cheez-its in the middle of us. 

"Why cheez-its and seven-up?" I asked him, opened up the box.

"My mom always gave me a little Ziploc bag and one of those mini seven-ups everyday after school and it just makes me happy honestly" He explained. 

I nodded before finally pressing the play button and the movies came to a start. Shane threw the blanket the both of us and came a little closer to me. I rested my head on his shoulder as he then wrapped his arms around me. 

The movie was almost over and the snacks were gone. Shane had fallen asleep so I got up to turn the TV off. I got back into bed quietly so I wouldn't wake Shane up. I succeed and laid there in the dark. I then slowly felt for Shane's lips and I slightly pecked his soft lips with my lips.

a/n: okay cheez-its and seven-up is my thing with my best friend and honestly to me it's the best combo for a snack i don't know just me? maybe... oh well.
