Ryland's POV

{One Month Later}

"Stop it, you're being so overprotective! You act like every time I go out that I'm going to get in some accident!" Shane blurted in annoyance, crossing his arms over his chest.

"I'm not trying to be overprotective, okay! I'm trying to keep you safe!" I shouted out, as I held his keys behind my back.

"Ryland, it's going to be fine! I'm just going to the grocery store and coming right back!" He shouted right back, as he ruffled up his hair with his hands in frustration.

"No! It's raining outside, and I'm not letting you go down the street curves until the sky is clear." I said, trying to reason with him but Shane was just becoming more and more upset.

"Just stop, Ry! It's annoying how I can't go out anymore because you're too paranoid of history repeating itself!" He yelled, locking his eyes with mine. "Sometimes I wonder why I even try anymore to persuade you that I'm okay now."

"I don't need you to persuade me, Shane. If I'm annoying you so much, then why do you go get another accident and forget about me again." I hissed, throwing his keys onto the couch. "Besides, it's your fault you got in that car the first time, not mine."

I pushed past Shane as he looked shocked with my words. I was angry but then again paranoid. I watched as Shane reached for his keys and threw on his jacket. I watched out the window how he got into his car and the raining was pouring down on the windshield.

Shane's POV

"Shane, he's just scared. He almost lost you so many times, and that accident was the peak of it all. He just wants you safe and with him. I know that sound selfish, but just think about from his side." Garrett tried to explain to me, as I had met up with him for coffee.

"Yeah, I do understand, but he needs to know that every time I drive doesn't mean that I'm going to get into an accident." I tried to explain as Garrett just shrugged.

"You need to talk to him, and just explain to him how you feel." Garrett advised me, as I nodded and Garrett's phone went off. "Hey, I gotta get home to Mason but seriously, talk to him."

Garrett sent me a smile before he pushed the coffee shop doors open and walked out. I sat there for a couple of more minutes before I felt a presence sit next to me. I turned my head slowly, and saw Blake sitting right next to me and I was confused but he looked directly down at me.

"I overheard what was happening with Ryland, are you okay?" He asked, a small smile on his lips and I just sighed and nodded.

"We're fine, I think I'm just gonna talk to h-"

"Do you really want a man that's gonna put limits on you, Shane? It's kind of selfish, don't you think?" He asked me again, licking his lips and his gray eyes looking into my emerald ones.

"Maybe, but he's only looking out for me and I appre-"

"Shane, baby, can't you see that I can treat you better than he can? I'm looking out for you and Ryland's not the one you want, Shaney. I can love you so better than he could." He grinned, pushing my hair back and tucking some hairs behind my ears. "I mean, come on, the way you use to melt into my kisses...."

His hand then went to my waist and we were in the back of the coffee shop, so there was no one around. Blake smiled down at me and I felt a familiar hand go up my shirt just a bit and shivered at the coldness it left on my warm body. Blake noticed how I tensed up and he ran his hand through my hair and I just looked at him with no expression whatsoever.

"I know another way I can calm you, Shaney....." He whispered into my ear softly.

He looked me straight in my eyes and he quickly put his lips onto mine. I was frozen, I didn't quite understand why Blake was doing this. He had told me he was happy for me that I was with Ryland just a month ago - I guess not now apparently.

"Blake, get off of me." I murmured, but he kept lips onto mine and continued to try and get me to kiss him back but lips stayed in place.

"Blake. Get off of me now." I stated, not wanting to cause attention to us as the workers were helping other customers in the front of the shop.

He wouldn't stop though, and I just gave him what he wanted. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him back slowly. I hated how lips felt against mine, they weren't Ryland's soft ones. He smiled into the kiss and pulled away slowly, before getting off of me and pulling me out the doors.

He caught glance the seemingly familiar car but it wasn't the car that Blake use to drive. He threw open his car door and sat me down in the front seat. He got in after me, closing the door, and his lips met mine again. All I was thinking about was the Blake's car, it looked so familiar but nothing was sparking my memory.

Suddenly, Blake's foot accidentally hit the car horn and the honk of the car sent waves through my brain. It was like any other car horn but this one, this one I heard that morning of my accident. The car, Blake's car, that was the car that had hit into me. My brain was hurting and whimpered in pain as Blake pulled away.

"What's wrong?" He asked, in a concerned tone, so finally he cared about how I felt.

"This car? it-it's new?" I asked him, hoping that it wasn't what I thought it was.

"No, I got into a crash one morning that I was really drunk. Doctors tried to explain to me what happened, but my hangover hurt so bad that I couldn't focus on their words. It's been in the shop ever since, I don't remember the day or anything, my memory was wiped from that morning." Blake explained to me, as my brain kept sparking with memories of that morning and I looked back at Blake's eyes.

Him.

It was him.

He didn't know that he hit someone...

He hit me...

Blake was the cause of all this mess.
