Ryland's POV

{shanedawsns you're welcome sweetie :) also no school tomorrow so two more chapters tomorrow}

Hours.

Days.

Weeks

Two months without his presence here and my mind hasn't been in such a bad place than this. My mind would roam to what it would be like if Shane just gave up and stopped fighting. The day they called me telling me that Shane had gotten into an accident, my mind has gone elsewhere. My heart hurt, everything seemed so perfect and oh how it went all wrong in seconds.

Multiple people came to visit him. Old friends from high school came just to see him if they couldn't ever again. Garrett and Mason made me stay with them, as they didn't want me to be alone at a time like this. I leaned forward to the front of my chair, as I was satisfied with the beeping noise that came from Shane's heart monitor.

"Okay, his vitals look just fine. We need him to wake up just to check if anything else is wrong just once more. Although, that's all on him." The doctor told me as he wrote down things on his paper.

I nodded as then days passed even more. Garrett and Mason had came today, they hadn't seen him in a week or so. We started to just talk, and Mason went to go get us all food as I hadn't eaten in hours. Garrett knew to not bring up Shane, as that would result horribly. I then heard a shuffle as I turned around to see that Shane was moving his fingers up and down.

My eyes widened as I stepped closer and I was his eyes were opened and they slowly looked over to me. He then shifted onto Garrett and Mason. He seemed confused as he expressions weren't there to help in anyway. I smiled at him and made my way over to him. I leaned down and peck his lips softly.

"You're actually up! I knew you wouldn't stop fighting." I exclaimed, wiping away tears that fell. "I love you so much, Shaney. I've missed you so much."

"Hey, I thought I'd tell you once you woke up that they saved your script and the short film was made. They dedicated it to you, and it's pretty big still. Everyone loved it." Garrett said, ruffling his hair a bit.

Shane looked at all of us again before breathing in deeply and asked, "Um, I wouldn't want to seem rude but who are you three? and why are you in my room? where's the nurses? what script? what short film? and why did you kiss me and tell me you loved me? I don't even know you. In fact, I don't know any of you."

My heart shattered and broke into millions of pieces. He forgot about me, he forgot about his career and friends, he forgot everything. I started to panic as Garrett pulled me out the room, as he didn't want Shane to feel scared by my actions. I slid down the wall, pulling my knees into my chest and cried. Why me? Why him? Why us?

"Please calm down, it's going to be okay. This isn't the end, and you've got have a bit of faith in him." He spoke softly, as the doctors started to walk into the room.

Garrett stayed out here with me and Mason had went to go get me water. The doctors had been in there for twenty minutes and advised the three of us to stay out as they questioned his state of mind. The doctors came out and we all stood up as he exhaled deeply. He gave us a sad look and started to speak.

"Due to all the impact of the hit, his head was told to be hit repeatedly. His head was bleeding and he was losing lots of blood by the second. He knocked out way before we stopped the bleeding." The doctor started as he looked back at me. "It seems Shane has a generalized amnesia. He's not able to remember anything at all. We tried asking basic information about him and he couldn't tell us."

"S-So, h-he forgot ev-everything?" I asked, as my heart was pounding against my chest.

"I'm afraid so, we didn't think it'd be this bad but it seems like he's going to need time to find out who he is again." The doctor said as he went back to writing on his paper. "But he can be released in two days. Try and help him, we did inform him that you three were his friends."

"Fiance!" I yelled as the doctor repeated what I said and walked away from the three of us.

We walked back in the room as Shane was fiddling with something in his hands. I saw that it was glistening and I saw it was the engagement ring. He set back down on the table and looked up at the three of us and he smiled. Garrett smiled back at him, and he pulled me aside.

"I think we should just try and remind Shane who he is and wait for later information. Let's try and not bombard him with everything in my sitting." Garrett advised, as we both sat on the bed next to him.

"So I've established that I'm 21 years of age, My name is Shane Lee Yaw, and I work as an writer for a publishing company." He said in such a soft voice.

"Yeah, I'm Garrett and I'm your best friend since high school. This is Mason, he's my boyfriend. And this is Ryland, your fia-"

"Friend too right?" He asked, with a smile on his face.
