"I see you still have the locket," I said.

"I wore it everyday."

"Even the days where you were making out with Sun?"

"Yang, that never happened."

"Sure it didn't."

"Yang, I came here to apologize."

"I told you, Blake. It's going to take a lot more than apologizing. This isn't a scratch you can put a bandaid on and say it's healed. No, Blake. This is a fucking wound that will eventually turn into a scar. And scars last forever, Blake. They won't go away like a teeny little scratch."

"Then what can I do to make you believe me that I still love you?"

"I have no fucking clue! You figure it out."

I put the box on the counter and put in the price in the cash register. I pulled out the receipt and placed it in front of her. She gave me the money and took her receipt. She picked up the box and left without another word. Neptune poked his head out from his office and flashed me a nervous smile.

"Sorry about what happened."

"It's alright. This is the second time she messed with my heart. And I won't let it happen a third time."

I sat down at my work space and saw there was a note. It was in scraggly handwriting. It said to meet at the waterfall after work. I sighed and began to work on my next item to fix. When it was time to close, I grabbed my jacket and car keys. I said goodbye to Neptune and headed out. When I got home, I walked down into the woods and at the waterfall. I saw Sun was standing there, waiting for me.

"What do you want, Sun?"

"It's not what I want."

"It's Blake isn't it?"

"She wants to speak with you, alone."

I walked over to the rocks and saw that Blake was sitting where the water dropped off. Her legs were swinging back and forth, staring down at me.

"What the hell do you want, Blake?"

"I wanted to prove to you that I still love you."

"Why did you push me away?"

"Because if I told you then this would have happened."

"If you told me, I wouldn't be this pissed off! If you would have just told me the truth, then I would have understood! But no, you decided to spare my feelings and made me more pissed off than you should have!"

Blake jumped from the ledge and landed a few feet away from me. She walked up to me.

"I know I should have told you earlier rather than later."

"I appreciate you understand your mistake, but I can clearly see that you like Sun."

"I don't. He got me drunk and we hooked up the night he did. That's why I'm saying goodbye to him."

"Wait, you never said you were doing that."

"Well now I am. Goodbye, Sun. I really don't want to see you again."

"Yeah, I understand." He walked up the hill and disappeared.

"Is this how you're going to prove it to me? By getting rid of him?"

"Yes. So he won't tempt me."

"I'm sorry, Blake, but you're going to do a lot more convincing than that."

Blake's cat ears flattened and a sad look appeared into her eyes. It hurt me to do this to her, but she needs to earn my trust back.

"My parents are mad at me for what I did. They don't want me back in the house until they see I made amends with you. I have no where to stay."

"The door is always open," I said.

We walked back up the hill and out of the forest, "That reminds me, I need to get my things from Sun's place."

"You better do that," I said walking inside.

Blake left and I closed the door. My dad came walking in.

"How was your day?"

"Exhausting, emotional, and just a wreck."

"What happened?"

I sat down and explained everything. He put a hand on my shoulder and smiled, "I am willing to give Blake a place to stay, and I am also proud of how you reacted, but you need to learn from these mistakes. This was the second time Blake did this to you? Your trust is going to take time repairing, Yang. I hope you realize that."

"I know, dad."

"Good. When's Blake coming over?"

"Should be in a few minutes."

When Blake did finally come in, my dad and I helped her with her things. When everything was finally inside, Blake unpacked and I went into the basement and turned on my game console. I picked up my remote and started playing. After a while, my dad came downstairs.

"You know, Yang, pushing her away is going to make things worse."

"I'm not trying to push her away. I'm trying to be—"

"Hard to get?" he asked.

I sighed. I guess I was being a little hard to get.  "I guess I am."

"Well, Yang, this was the first ever relationship that didn't end quickly. Remember Yin?"

"Yeah, we don't have to bring him up."

"What about Cassidy? Along with Jacob, Mark—"

"Yes, I remember them! And besides, Cassidy was the only girl I really liked."

"But that was in middle school. See, Blake truly does love you. You just need to let her in."

I nodded and he headed back upstairs. I continued to play, thinking about what he had said. Around 2am, I finally stopped and headed upstairs. I walked past Ruby's room, which was where Blake was since Ruby was at Atlas with Weiss. I heard the sound of faint crying. The door was cracked open slightly and I could see a light. I opened the door and saw Blake's back. Ruby's bed was right next to the window, so she could see outside every morning. I crept up from behind her and saw that she was scrolling through old pictures we had taken. I sighed quietly and left. I got ready for bed and when I checked up on Blake, her phone was on the windowsill and she was asleep. I walked back in and kissed her head.

"I'm sorry."

I walked back out, but I heard Blake faintly.

"Yang?"

I turned back around and walked back to her. I slid into the bed and Blake's arms wrapped around my waist and mine wrapped around her neck. She was still crying. I pulled her closer to me, feeling myself succumbing to my emotions. I kissed her head once more. I still loved her.
