In the morning, I woke up to the feeling of my neck was vibrating. I opened my eyes and saw cat ears flicking. I just remembered what happened last night. And that weird feeling on my neck, was Blake purring. I looked down and saw her amber eyes looking up at me.
"Morning, Kitten," I smiled.
She smiled and tried to give me a kiss. I turned away and her ears flattened.
"You're going to have to do better than that, Blakey," I said, sticking out my tongue.
She smiled and I got up. Today was another day of work.
"I'm going to get ready for work," I said. "Think you can stay here alone for a while."
"I think I'll be fine," she said, a little congested.
"I heard you were crying last night."
"You did?" she asked, rubbing her eyes.
"Yeah. That's why I came in here."
She smiled faintly, "Thank you for the comfort."
I got up and headed into my room to get changed. When I finished changing, I headed downstairs to see my dad sitting on the couch.
"I thought you had teach today," I said.
"I don't start classes until 9:45."
I turned and the clock read 7:45. I walked back up stairs and into Blake's room. I walked in while she was changing.
"Yang!"
"Sorry, sorry," I said closing the door, "My dad won't leave until 9:45, so if you don't want to hear his horrible dad jokes, don't leave the room."
"I heard that!" Tai yelled.
"Then you also know that Blake will be here!"
"Why don't you take her to work with you? I don't think Neptune will mind."
"Sound ok to you?" I asked.
"Sure. Give me five minutes."
"I'll wait downstairs for you."
I sat downstairs with my dad, waiting for Blake. When she did come down, I said goodbye to my dad and we started to walk. Neptune's repair shop wasn't far of a walk from my house. Still living with my dad is a bit weird. Ever since Ruby moved out and in with Weiss at Atlas, my dad has been trying to push me out of the nest. Let my wings soar. When we arrived at the repair shop, Neptune greeted Blake. She asked for work and Neptune handed her an application form. While she filled that out, I was beginning on the necklace I had to fix. Neptune headed into the garage and started fixing a car. I dealt with the smaller items rather than the larger ones. Neptune wants me to get a few more years under my belt before he starts teaching me how to fix a car. Blake finished and placed it on Neptune's desk.
The day crawled by slowly and before I knew it, Blake and I were heading home. When we got home, I told her I had to run a few errands. I grabbed the keys to my car and headed out. What she didn't know was I was heading to my other job. My dad knew, but didn't approve. He said that I was an adult and it wasn't his job to watch after me when it comes for a job. I worked at a fight club. Not as serving drinks, but fighting. When I got there, I grabbed the bag from my trunk and headed inside.
"Yang! So good to see you again," Cardin said.
"Yeah, yeah. Always good to see your best fighter."
"Best fighter ever since you got that robotic arm of yours."
I sighed and walked into the training room. From there, I headed into the changing room and got changed. I was greeted by a few other friends I knew back from Beacon. Nora and Pyrrha were here. Along with Coco and a few I didn't know. There were people from Mistral, Vacuo, but not Atlas. I walked out of the training room and checked the schedule. I had a fight with someone who was from Mistral. Her name was Neo. I headed into the circle and waited for her. When she walked in, the announcer, Scarlet, rang the bell. Neo made the first move. I dodged and within a few seconds, I knocked her to the ground. The bell rang once more and I got up. The bets for me had piled up since I first started here. I grabbed my winnings and left. That was my only fight for the night.
"Hey, Yang, before you go, I need to ask you a question."
"What is it, Cardin?"
"For about let's say, 3 million dollars, which I have in cash in my hands," Cardin held up a roll of money, which consisted of 3 million dollars. "If you fight Pyrrha. Both of you have high bets when it comes to fights. If you win, I'll add another 3 million. If you lose, you still get 3 million."
It was risky, but she couldn't fight a friend she knew back in high school. But it was promising.
"Fine," I said.
"Good. Get back in the ring and I'll get Pyrrha."
I walked back into the ring and Pyrrha came out. Cardin told Scarlet this was a special night.
"I'm sorry," I said.
"Don't worry. I won't take it personally," Pyrrha said.
"Good luck."
"Good luck, Yang."
The bell went off and I made the first move. I punched him Pyrrha in the stomach, side kicked her in the right side, and round housed her. It was a long fight, which lasted thirty minutes. We were both tired and losing energy levels. But I got the upper hand. I got up and grabbed Pyrrha by the waist. I pushed her to the ground and held her there. The bell sounded and I got up. I extended my hand and pulled her up.
"That was a good fight. Nice job," I said, shaking her hand.
"Thanks. You too," Pyrrha said.
I walked towards Cardin who had the 6 million dollars ready for me. I walked into the training room and changed. I grabbed them along with my bag. I placed my money inside and grabbed my towel. I wiped off the beads of sweat and headed back into my car. When I got home, I went to the trunk to get the money. I walked back inside and saw Blake was on the couch, waiting for me to get back.
