I woke up dreading the day.
I hadn't slept well, thinking about what Roland had said.
The King, had claimed I was his mate, maybe that prevented me from developing romantic feelings for anyone. Why else wouldn't I fall for Roland - he was everything I had ever wanted in a man.
He has kept me company every evening when Mia had to leave, until I was sleepy.
He made me laugh with his silliness.
He was so expressive with his face.
Goofy.
Caring.
And now he was gone.. because of me.
Ding
[Mia: Rise & Shine! The King is here! *wink*]
My heartbeat quickened and my hands felt clamp.
I was nervous to see him.
I head over to the shower with a change of clothes. Today will be a good day.

Debra was in the kitchen preparing what smelled like pancakes.
I trotted into the kitchen and smiled at her.
I took over for Debra, flipping the pancakes as she made fresh blueberry jam.
There were at least 60 pancakes by the time we were done, I'd only be eating 3.
I had gotten used to their large appetites. When I'd have dinner with Ronald, he'd sometimes scarf down the entire plate in a second when I wasn't looking. I always scolded him about table manners. "I'm as hungry as a wolf" he's always say
Debra cleared her throat, pointedly looking at my untouched plate.
I picked up my fork and dug in. We always ate in silence. It was rare for Debra to speak, but I never pushed her. She would sometimes bring up an old memory. She seemed like a woman who had been through a lot.
I always found people bowing to her, but she never paid any attention. She was a warrior, who always had breakfast with me, and that made me feel special.
She could easily be 30 years old, but she was fit and strong.
Debra cleared the island and washed the dishes, ignoring my pleas to help. I gave up and began catching up on my readings for my final exam.
Debra left sometime when I was reading. I looked up to see it was already getting dark outside.
How long had I been reading? Normally Roland would bring me dinner, but I'd have to make myself something today since I wasn't in the mood to go to the kitchen.
Turning on the lights, I went back to reading. Hours later, a knock on the door distracted me.
Sighing, I walked over to the door and opened it and Mia pushed her way in with several bags in her hands. "I'm so excited!" she exclaimed
I followed behind her, up to my room "what is all that?"
"Stuff" she vaguely answered, digging through the bags and emptying the contents onto the bed.
Dresses, jewelry and shoes were scattered all around my bed.
"What's all this for?" I picked up a beautiful cream dress, feeling the silky material
Mia squealed in excitement "It's the Pack ritual to welcome Spring! and since the King is back, it'll be even more exciting!"
"Do you know where he went?" I pried
