I never really noticed
how easy it was
to see someone
every day
and never notice them
the way I never
noticed her.
What was it that
caught my eye?
Was it the fact
that David
and I
were looking
for socks
that day
and you happened
to be working
in the fitting rooms section?
Why was that day
so much different
than any other day?
Maybe it was because
my heart was broken
and my love-blind eyes
could finally see
a picture
other than him.
'I'd go lesbian
for Katie,'
I told my friend
Martin.
'Want me
to set you two up?'
he asked teasingly.
I shook the thought
away,
but over
the next few days,
I thought about it
more and more.
Maybe he should
set me up,
I mean,
what's the harm?
