I want to slip away
and kiss you at 1 AM
when the world is quiet
and all I can hear in the room
is the soft breathing coming
from your nostrils
and in between my heavy
sighs because I can't seem to breathe
whenever I'm around you.
I want to hold you at 2 AM
while high school kids
struggle to finish their assignments
before they are due the next day
and while college students
are out drinking with their friends
because they've run out of fucks to give.
I want you to whisper my name at 3 AM
when I've fallen to pieces
and all the broken parts of me
are laying on your bathroom floor
and parts of me are bleeding
from myself trying to claw away
the demons that have nestled themselves
underneath my skin.
I don't want to leave and it's 4 AM,
the hour of which my father wakes up
and gets himself ready
for another long day
that never seems to end.
I wake up from these dreams of you and it's 5 AM.
I should probably go back to sleep,
but I really miss you right now.
