I heard these words
too many times,
and I just wanted
to hope that
the rejections
would have stopped
with her being my
first 'yes'.
But she wasn't
interested in looking
for a relationship
right now,
because she had
given her heart
to the last girl she
dated.
I could understand
why someone like her
would fall for someone
else so easily,
I just secretly wished
that if she fell for anyone
that she would
fall for
me.
She said
however,
that she would be
my friend,
because she understood
what it was like
to still be in love
with someone.
Just friends,
could I do that?
I would have to
try if I wanted
anything to go
right.
