Soulmates

Can I ask you a question, reader? It's something very important. Yes? Oh, good. I was going to ask you the question whether you said yes or no anyway.

Do you believe in soulmates? Does your religion make you believe in them, or is it your own personal belief? For me, it is my own personal belief, and I have believed in soulmates since I was very young.

I got the idea when I was watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and it was the last episode. Sabrina was getting married to Aaron, but before she is to get married, she is given a piece that looks like it was part of another half of a stone. This was her soul stone (I doubt that's the actual name, but let's give it this name). She is then given another stone— Aaron's stone. When she tries to piece them together they fit, start to glow, and then they come apart. It was an almost fit.

Sabrina does everything she possibly can to make the two stones fit together, but nothing works and the stones just don't fit with one another. She starts to doubt things and in the end, she ends up not marrying Aaron. When she exits the church, her high school sweetheart, Harvey, is waiting for her, holding his soul stone. Sabrina realizes something in that moment, and the two leave the scene on Harvey's bike, tossing aside their two pieces of stone. The stones end up fitting together perfectly. They were soulmates.

From then I always believed in a soulmate. My heart has never been one to lie to me, and from the moment that I met Aaron, I always knew that he'd be an important person in my life. When I fell in love with him for the very first time, I knew that he was my soulmate. To be away from him makes me ache, and I can't picture myself with anyone else, no matter how hard I try to find another. My heart only wants him.
