Chapter 40-
The next morning, I was awoken to London slamming the front door rather loud as she exited. I shot up quickly from the ground, having a heart attack from the sudden noise before groaning, realizing London was probably running late for school as she had a club or something along those lines while I was ready to back to sleep.
I looked at the round clock on my desk and realized it was already 6:30AM.
I reached for my phone that had been off since yesterday and I turned it back on as I made my way to the bathroom to get ready for school with it in my hand. I set it down for a bit as I readied my toothbrush and clothes I needed for the day before looking at everything I missed since I powered off my phone last night.
I grumbled under my breath as I read the text messages Joshua sent to our small text group. Joshua had been having car trouble since the weekend so he wouldn't be able to drive us all to school this week. I wouldn't have minded if it wasn't the fact that I had been sleeping wrong the whole night and everything was just not working out for me since yesterday.
Not to mention that Calvin had not gotten back to me since yesterday too.
And the fact that I missed over ten calls from Taylor James and some from Paul too.
My heart pounded harder as I tried to call Calvin once more to only be sent to voicemail again.
I stood in the front of the mirror, debating if I should skip school to find him or what.
I shook my head on that thought.
He should be going to school today.
I hope.
But what if he wasn't?
What if he was in trouble?
Groaning and before I can change my mind, I picked up my phone and texted to both Megan and Joshua that I wouldn't be in today at all because I came down with something yesterday.
I didn't bother saying it in group chat or else Calvin might yell at me for doing something wreck-less like finding him but I just had to know.
I had to get everything off my chest.
I had to make sure that he was okay too.
I knew that Calvin was always late for school and since I didn't live too far away from him, I can bike to him or take a MUNI bus to him since I remembered where he lived.
Before I can think twice about anything and running on adrenaline itself, I quickly got ready.
When I was done wiping away the dried blood from yesterday off, I brushed my teeth, wiped my face so I looked a bit more awake even though I only had a few hours of sleep. I combed my messy blonde hair and threw on my usual light blue jeans and pullover grey sweater before heading out the door.
It had been a while since I rode my bike but I thanked the heaven that I wasn't having a horrible time with steering my way down the main streets to his house.
My mind was going through everything as I tried to think of why he was ignoring me since yesterday.
Was he okay?
What was he doing?
Why wasn't he picking up?
I turned the corner after a fifteen minute biking and I saw his house came into view. I gulped when I realized...I had no idea where to go from here. I couldn't just waltz into his house and greet his parents like it was nothing.
I chained my bike up to a poll and stared at his house from across the street, not sure what to do next. I would try calling him again but I already knew he wouldn't pick up.
