CHAPTER THIRTEEN

CRYSTAL LAKE NEWSPAPER OFFICE,

7:45 PM

Marla was writing. She stared at the footage of the new murders at Camp Crystal Lake on the Internet stream.

     "Sure like Jason is back", Marla said. She sipped her coffee.

    "Looks like that idiot who flashed $1 million dollars into that place has been murdered and his girlfriend Jill, and some teens at that exercise center they had installed. Frankly, its a waste of money", Peter Thomas said.

      "Yes, and now everyone's suffering", Marla said.

      "What are you gonna write about?", Peter asked.

       "About how stuffed up that infernal camp is" Marla said.

       "And how's that book coming along?", Peter said.

       "Good. it's called: "The History of Camp Crystal Lake". It fills in the blanks and gives everyone a real purpose to dig deep into why the camp is so evil", Marla said.

      "And why is it so evil?", Peter asked.

       "Because of its Christian belief in sins and punishments in the 19th century. The camp was a Church and its Preachers forced its beliefs into the impressionable young. In fact, there was a girl there called Sara Anne Mattock who got pregnant aged 13 in 1899. She was murdered by the Preacher for her sin. She was murdered along with her unborn son, and dumped in the lake. Hence the name "Camp Blood", which, from then on, was so called because of the scandal. This was the genesis for the evil we know today. Of course Pamela Sue Voorhees, aged 15, was pregnant to Elias Voorhees, who was also 15, by May, 1945, a month after the end of WWII. I can tell you that the real reason Elias left was because he was a Soldier in the US Army. He enlisted and got in. Of course he lied about his age. Elias was known to be sadistic. He tortured animals and threw cats and dogs into the woods near the camp. He kidnapped local girls and murdered them with large butcher knives, and dumped some in the lake. In short, he was a serial killer. And Jason, who was born in 1946, grew up disabled. His Mom, Pamela took the job as the camp cook to supplement her low income. Post The Stock Market Crash of 1929, and into the 1930's, US jobs were gone. The stock market was done. Suicides and murders were up; crimes were up. Al Capone and his gangsters ruled. And Elias killed because he could. He admired the gangsters and killers. He knocked up Pamela because he could; he could do anything. In 1954, Elias now aged 26, died from a brain hemmorhage. It wasn't detected earlier because he was in jail for several murders. In short, he bled out. The death was messy. In 1955, Pamela Sue Voorhees, then aged 25, found solace at Camp Crystal Lake, where she was a camper for years. She prepared the meals, taught campers, and was good at her job. But she had a secret: she had a psychological mental breakdown. Now, this happened when she heard about Elias's death. She felt taking on the role of single Mom, especially in the conservative 1950's, was too much. Moms stayed at home to look after their kids; husbands went to work and came home. But Pamela Sue Voorhees worked at the camp to feed Jason and herself. And everyone else. Now, by 1956, Barry and Claudette, then aged 16, was made Camp Counsellors. Why? Because the Christys made a mistake: they thought the youth of America needed youthful counsellors, because originally it was a Youth Camp. They were in love and they ignored their jobs. And, as everyone knows, they let Jason Voorhees drown; they purposefully let him down. But Jason Voorhees didn't really drown. He survived. He dragged himself out of the lake and was hidden in a shack in the woods. The circumstances of how he got out is the ultimate Camp Crystal Lake mystery. And, as you know, Pamela killed them in 1958, starting the horror", Marla said....
