...Harlan knew what she meant.

"Look, dear, my life isn't telling people off for trying to do the right thing. Crystal Lake has many good things here: the famous Diner; the Library; the Pool and Spa; and Library; and the new bridge. Now, we do our best darling, to prevent hitchhikers and new people, to go away from that place...but they never listen; they never listen. And, to me, that's the real tragedy", Harlan said.

"I know. I was married to Deputy Winslow back in '68. He grew up in Conneticut. And we loved each other. In 1972 he joined the Crystal Lake PD. And, for the 5 years, he did such a great job, that by 1978, he became a Deputy. That was 20 years after Barry and Claudette died at the camp. By 1979, he was helping Officer Dorf making sure that the young kids behaved at the camp and the surrounding areas: the woods; the roads, etc. Sgt. Tierney was the Boss that year. Tierney was a career cop. He joined the PD in the summer of 1950. After fighting Hitler in WWII as a pilot, he decided to change jobs. Tierney became a cop. And he was a great cop. He made sure that the Police Department was running properly. And he did it well....Officer Dorf was a native of Conneticut. He was a born cop. He also had a mean streak; he yelled at the hippies and kids that were, quote, 'Had loose morals', unquote. The 1960's and 1970's changed the World; Crystal Lake didn't change. You see, we take our beliefs seriously; we take our beliefs to the extreme...because we want to make everything working normally. And yet, as God is my Witness, the day will come when we can speak normally without any talk of violence and sex and other issues. Hell, if any local girls got pregnant here and she weren't married to the guy, they'll kill them all and throw their bodies in that lake as punishment for their sins...And we won't bat an eyelid...Because it's The Way", Anne said, she finished her story, and sipped her hot coffee....
