LAILA'S POVShe was possibly one of those jealous girlfriends that befriended any girl they saw talking to their man. You know, so the girl can't go out with the guy anymore, but she'd not want to betray their friendship.
I assumed. Was it wrong to assume? What else would she follow me to my house?
"Oh my God! Did Hellzel send you here? What do you want?", I asked curiously knowing curiosity killed the cat. I already had enough during the day and I didn't my family to get involved. I had to make leave immediately before my sister could see her.
She smirked and winked making a step closer to me. " no he didn't. I didn't make to catch up with you when you left. I admit I was shocked to see Hellzel talking to you calmly", a calm Hellzel? Is that how a calm person should be? I should even call him Hell, coz that's what he is. Hell.
She continued when i didn't respond. "He never did that before. What were you guys talking about? Did he make a pass on you? He does that to new girls students all the time", she retorted. Did that concern me? No. Did I want to know anything about him? No. He was just but a pain in the ass.
Why did she have to follow me at home? just to find out what the rude boy had to said to me? Couldn't she have asked him instead and leave me out of this?
If he hadn't told her anything, I might as well fill her with lies so she could never come back. She was like a journalist, when you gave them information they didn't find useful, they'd never bother you again.
"He didn't say anything. We corrode our paths and he assisted me to pick up my papers",I shrugged giving me a scowl not pleased with the answer I gave.
I had so many questions I wanted to ask knowing she knew him so well. Like why he has lilac blue eyes. Something so rare in African countries. Why he was always so violent. But I debated otherwise.
"I'll get back inside. See you tomorrow", or not. I said and before I closed the door on her face, she held it open with her combat boot and smirked, again.
She winked at me and I looked away." won't you invite me in? I don't mind hanging out with your family. And get to know you some more apart from the fact that you have a fine ass.. I've never seen a hot girl so rude ",she said nonchalantly moving closer to me. I admit she made me feel uncomfortable.
Hot? Me?..me?...Laila and hot in the same sentence? She was joking. A very bad joke.
Why'd she even make fun of me like that?Jackie rushed to the door and opened it wide.
" why won't you tell him to go and...", she halted when their eyes met. She tucked her hair behind her ear before she took her hand. They smiled at each other pulling a complete stranger into a tight hug.
"Hey, am Jackie." She said before turning to me with a scowl.
"Why won't you let our new friend inside? its not good to keep visitors waiting. How many times do I need to tell you?", sorry mum. I totally forgot about that.
She pulled her in closing the door and heading back to the dining before I could say anything.
What was she thinking allowing a complete stranger in the house? I loved her hospitable nature. Always friendly to me. I guess that's why she gained a lot of friends while I was left behind trying to trust the few ones, that treated me right.
She introduced herself as Tania Njoki and talked about her procurement coarse probably in the same class as Vicky. I wondered why she didn't attended the class. Apparently, one of those students that found joy in skipping classes. Couldn't make a good for my sister. I concluded.
