I was in the middle of applying my black contact lens when I heard my cellphone rings. I blink a few times and checked myself in the mirror. As I run my fingers through my hair and meticulously scanned if my natural hair roots were groowing. Just to be sure.
Actually nung Sabado pa 'to tawag ng tawag.
I let out a sigh and tossed my phone in my bag.
She's been texting me nonstop since Saturday. Even though, I already told her I'm not going. I even begged to Zia to go there, kahit alam kong ayaw niya ding pumunta dun.
She's been very busy lately with the hospital works. Especially attending conferences. Minsan nga, swerte na 'yung nagkikita kami twice a week.
Whenever she's free, she make it to a point to prepare a healthy meal for me. She really helped me a lot to lose some weight. More healthy diet and exercise to go.
I know, I sound rude that I should be thankful but ayaw ko lang kasi 'yung topic na pilit niyang pag-usapan namin.
"So, how's school?" Mom said, while I was drinking my carrot juice.
"Good." I simply replied. "Really?" she said with a doubt plastered on her face.
"Then why you're still dyeing your hair? And you're still wearing those contacts? Aminin mo nga, is someone bullying you again? Just tell me, and I'll talk to them. Or kung gusto mo, transfer ulit tayo ng school."
I chewed my lip. I already transfered school, one time. And I won't do it anymore. Lalo na ngayon na two years nlng at gra-graduate na ako ng high school. And honestly, it won't change anything if lilipat man ako ng school.
Huminga ako ng malalim bago sumagot, "I'm fine Ma. Hindi lang kasi akong komportableng mag-eye glass. And I just want to look... normal. And besides Ma, I'm not in elementary anymore. So, you don't need to worry. Ok?" I said, just to assure her.
I'm older than most of the students in Kaisei. I'm actually, the same age as Pearl. Ilang taon kasi akong nahinto sa pag-aaral nun.
She sighed and went near me. "You know, you can talk to me, right?," she said and run her fingers through my hair.
This is the reason why she doesn't want me to dye my hair and wear contacts. I really looked like my dad. We have the same ginger red hair and emerald eyes. My father is an English.
